Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart

I think the fact Amazon Canada has 1% life steal as the #1 rpg book…makes one wonder what those Canadians are reading! :) I say that as hockey season is right around the corner and hope the Maple Leafs break through this year like the Bills in football!

Edit - 40 pages in and has anyone been able to even confirm the title of this thread yet?

Not to me as the first post at the 7;30 mentioned is Teos pulling or conjecturing from the live play Acq Inc of plunging a dagger and heart and such that they are switching but I have yet to actually see Jerry or Mike say it or announce it.

Edit - I watched the live play and didnt get that that feel or reference and it wasn’t announced, it’s Teos hearing it on the live play and guessing. It may come to fruition or may not but it no where in the first post if it a news break type moment where Jerry and Mike say it.

Maybe @Alphastream can clarify if he’s using the word play to guess or he has behind the dm screen knowledge from Jerry or Mike on a future switch.

I really enjoyed the way Chris Perkins ran Acq Inc games, especially the early ones. I also think that Mike Krahulik and Scott Kurtz were an important component for humor in the earliest games; even more so if both were present together.

Without those elements, and with the way some of the later games are run ("C" team, etc.), I find that I don't really connect with the narrative in the way that I do with the older games. I find some of the personalities interesting, but I don't really get into the story in the same way that I did with the oldest Acq Inc presentations.

I am so far out of the loop on LitRpgs so I was thinking this was a book that "the kids" are into. I freely admit to being clueless on them. The thing I have noticed, because I do look at these rankings every now and then, is how there's some LitRpg book typically at #1 ... that I've never heard of. I suspect that regularly changes as a new champion becomes the "new hotness."

I do find it really interesting.

I absolutely don't want to take us down this road again, but Amazon Canada still has sales ranks. When I checked earlier and D&D PHB 2024 was #2 in gaming books and Daggerheart was #3. And their ranks in books were about 200 apart. Take that for what it's worth.
Now thats some good data! Interesting that he went all the trouble to get the numbers concealed at Amazon in the US but then not in Canada I wonder if the others non US Amazons have sales ranks still?

In the UK the 2024 PHB is #1 in roleplaying and war games and 512 in books (#2 is the Minecraft Sticker Adventure). By contrast the Daggerheart Core Set is not doing so well and "Usually dispatched within 4 to 5 weeks" (also out of stock in the UK Critical Role store)
