Adding a rule to Magic Item Creation

I was thinking about a way to decrease the market value of a magic item by increasing the number of body slots required to wear it.

I'd like to hear your opinion on the reduction rate. I was thinking 50% for every doubling of the slots. But sometimes it sounds a bit too much to me :P

50% sounds ideal to me, especially as you could instead have two different items taking up the two slots for a similiar effect... and because spell cost increases exponentially as the power goes up...

Or if you'd rather, add it up as if you were creating two items that would stack that do the same thing, and compare price.
