Adv: A Simple Dungeon Crawl (DM: DarwinofMind Judge:renau1g)

"This one knows little of ritual magic, but will try to learn as he can," says One-Who-Waits.

[sblock=ministats]I think this is right. The link for the full sheet should go to the new wiki.

[sblock=Spirit Effects (IMPORTANT TO DM AND PCS)] A reminder of the effects that the spirit (Knotty Virtue) has on combat. The first three are important to players.
  • Any ally of One-Who-Waits who starts their turn adjacent to Knotty Virtue can shift 1 square as a free action, as the first action during their turn.
  • Any ally of One-Who-Waits who is adjacent to Knotty Virtue gains a +4 bonus to their damage rolls against bloodied enemies.
  • Knotty Virtue occupies 1 square. Allies can move through its space but enemies cannot.
  • Any enemy that leaves a square adjacent to Knotty Virtue without shifting is subject to an opportunity attack (the Spirit's Fangs power).
  • Knotty Virtue has the same defense values as One-Who-Waits and can be targeted by attacks.
  • If a single attack deals 11 or more damage to Knotty Virtue, the spirit disappears and One-Who-Waits takes 6 damage. Otherwise Knotty Virtue is unaffected by attacks.
  • When One-Who-Waits takes a move action, he can move Knotty Virtue up to 6 squares as well.
  • Knotty Virtue is unaffected by terrain and environmental phenomena.

Grigo examines the ritual closely. He's particularly looking for hidden side effects or dangers, such as life force being needed to fuel the ritual, or a possibility of the portal sucking someone in or of becoming even bigger. He also looks for flaws - did the writers leave out an important step or ingredient, either accidentally or on purpose? If the ritual looks reasonably safe and effective, he will then pay attention to how long it will take, how many people are needed, what ingredients are required.

Then he will rehearse the ritual in his mind, step by step, and look for difficulties in execution. Holding the lit candle in one hand, and the black gem in the other....now I pour the squid ink onto the gem. Wait a minute, i can't do that and still hold the candle... ah, prestidigitation will do it. But if we're in a fight, and the ink spills, how do I recover? We'll need THREE vials of squid ink, not one.

(I would make an arcana check, but I CAN'T FIND GRIGO! None of my links connect to him; in fact when I try them they log me out.)

[sblock=CS's from old wiki]Hey Ren. Do you know if the old CS pages are archived anywhere. I can't find Eithal (nor Arkavas from LEB). I know it's my own darn falut for waiting so long to port them, but it seems that OPS is having the same problem.

EDIT: BTW, I lost my CB version of Eithal a long time ago, so if I can't find the wiki page, I might have to overhaul her prematurely. Hope she doesn't end up a male, gnome barbarian ;).[/sblock]

Ozymandias found me and ported me over... I exist again! Thanks, Ozzy.

So now I can tell you my Arcana roll to study the ritual is 14 (yikes!)

This should be easy enough. One bit here is a bit confusing... One Who Waits or Psais, do you know what an "etheric lettuce" is? It says I'm supposed to visualize one, but what does ghostly salad have to do with... what? Etheric LATTICE? Ah, never mind...ummm....what's an etheric lattice?

"Don't ask me mate, I can't read none of that paper-writing no how."

[sblock=OOC]Dang. Ozy and Cabana found it! Looks like I did overlook that extra damage feat. Oh well. I know what I'm going to do on her overhaul.[/sblock]

Stone's Endurance
Form of the Relentless Panther (Form of the Relentless Panther Attack)

Note on Warden's Fury and Warden's Grasp:
Warden's Fury gives Eithal a free attack against any of her marked foes adjacent to her that attack any of her allies (as an Immediate Interupt). If it hits, it does her normal basic attack damage, but it also makes the target grant combat advantage until the end of her next turn. Warden's Grasp lets Eithal slide any of her marked foes within 5 squares of her that attack any of her allies. The slide is one square and it also slows them and doesn't allow them to shift until the end of her next turn (this is an Immediate Reaction).

Also, class feature Font of Life allows Eithal to save at the beginning of her turn as well as at the end.

One more thing, has anyone heard from elec? I've PM'd him/her and sent an e-mail just letting them know we are going to get moving again. I'll ask someone to NPC elec's PC in the mean time once/if combat breaks out [/sblock]
