Advanced Firearms?

Empirate

First Post
One of the players in my Pathfinder Zeitgeist campaign plays a Gunslinger/Paladin and has the Gunsmith background, as well. He is keen on getting an advanced firearm or three for his character. When do you suppose would be a good time to hand out those literal 'big guns'? We're nearing the end of Skyseer, and I thought maybe the tech fair at the beginning of Lies would be a good opportunity - however, 4th level PCs don't really have the funds to buy a revolver or rifle, let alone two revolvers AND a rifle (which is the player's goal).

Also, I haven't read further than Lies in the adventure path yet - is there a later point in one of the modules where access to advanced firearms is explicitly spelled out? Maybe in part 6: Revelations from the Mouth of a Madman? If so, that seems rather late, or at least it's well beyond the point where PCs would want to spend money on enchanting their weapons - money that would be 'lost' if a better base weapon came along then.

There's a stopover in Trekhom (the capital of the dwarf-dominant nation of Drakr) in adventure four, where it'd be easy to justify buying high-end firearms.

Aesthetically, I prefer the setting to have most constables with one-shot pistols, with a few specialized tinkers having revolvers.

I would also suggest reading up the very end of adv. 6, "Technological breakthroughs" part. Tinker Oddcog can provide Risur with new techs, including advanced weapons, it may be useful to know the roadmap, even if it's 4 adventures away

Yeah, I know, I should be reading way ahead already (also helps with foreshadowing and using NPCs correctly). But a recent move plus new job leave me barely enough time for regular playing sessions, let alone preparing as I should...
