Meaning the first attack will probably hit, and the others have a lesser chance of doing so. So instead of having the first shot hit, and then the second maybe, then no chance of the last two, he uses Manyshot to fire 3 or 4 arrows, earning an attack of +10/+10/+10 or +8/+8/+8/+8, respectively. It may not actually be any better, we really haven't done the math, but he thinks it is, so that's what he uses,![]()
I thought Manyshot requires just 1 attack roll for all arrows, not one per arrow. That's the reason why I asked the question about concentration checks.
SRD said:As a standard action, you may fire two arrows at a single opponent within 30 feet. Both arrows use the same attack roll (with a –4 penalty) to determine success and deal damage normally (but see Special).
For every five points of base attack bonus you have above +6, you may add one additional arrow to this attack, to a maximum of four arrows at a base attack bonus of +16. However, each arrow after the second adds a cumulative –2 penalty on the attack roll (for a total penalty of –6 for three arrows and –8 for four).
Damage reduction and other resistances apply separately against each arrow fired.
And the point about DR separatly applied for each arrow may be a good hint for a number of concentration checks equal to arrows fired.
