Sabynha returns Wat's smile with the warmth due a person who had just earlier saved her life. And just a hint of mischief.

Now that Oakstaff was long-gone she felt less safe in these dangerous times, even with all her companions near, and drew her sword, just in case. She would be glad of it, if they should happen to meet Ragnar's assassin along the road.

It does not take long before you arrive at the place that the stream empties out into a serene lake. In the middle of the lake is a tiny, forested isle where a small palace of white stone stands. The water is crystal clear, showing the lake's gravel bottom. Schools of multicolored minnows swim below the surface, mirroring the iridescent dragonflies darting through the air above. In the deeper part of the lake, a group of young otters frolic, rising, submerging, and playing without care. A little way down the shoreline, a wide, flat-bottomed raft rests on the water next to a small wooden dock. A long pole,for guiding the vessel across the water, lies beside the raft.

"Hmmm, can anyone tell if there are recent tracks in the mud round the jetty? I'm thinking that there may be more than one raft around, possibly at least one near the Water Palace," muses Rain.

"Yes. Anyone else find it odd that there is an unguarded raft that could easily take someone across the lake? Not really something you want to have lying around if you are trying to guard someone on that island. I suppose it might be a good sign that the raft is on this side and not the other, but that's only if Ragnar's assassin would actually use it. Though if the assassin were here I don't think he'd leave the raft so that he could easily be followed. Someone check it out, make sure it is safe."

OOC: How many of us could fit on the raft?

"Now that you mention it, Wat, it does seem a little odd..."

Sabynha steps carefully, looking for any sign that someone has come this way recently; tracks along the bank, or some other sign that this is some kind of trap or ambush.

Zuri steps into the water, so as not to ruin the tracks that may be there on the lake shore. She then examines the raft to see if it is usable.

[sblock=Thievery]Thievery = 20. [/sblock]
