Adventure: A Tale of Two Domains (DM:Luinnar, Judge:renau1g)

Quagmire freezes in place for a second, then, with deliberate casualness, spits on the floor of the cavern. "Don't hardly remember my parents. But this, this I shall not forget."

His ego thus damaged, he arrives at the only reasonable course of action.

[sblock=Attack]I'm not sure how far away they are, whether they're floating or over "land" and how many actions Sir Exsixten gets, but Sir Exsixten is going to try to hit them.[/sblock]
Sir ExSixTen charges the two ghostly figures with his axe, swinging wildly. The weapon goes right through them, only managing to disperse some of the blue vapor making up their bodies, which quickly flow back into place.

GM: The two ghosts are floating an inch off the ground towards the party, they are in the middle of the bridge.

EX-GHOST LIZARD, HOW DO WE MAKE THEM EX-GHOSTS SO SIR EXSIXTEN CAN KILL THEM? Sir Exsixten says, glancing at Jax.

OOC: Unexpectedly have internets... tonight at least.

Foolish Warforged! You cannot harm the dead! Come share the same fate we shared! The ghostly figure of Andras shouts and grabs onto Sir ExSixTen with a strong bone chilling grip. He then begins to drag the Warforged into the misty pit which he fell.

Come, join me Jax! Perhaps you shall find courage in death! the ghost of Brenn says, laughing and begins to hover towards the Kobold.

GM: Sir ExSixTen will need to find a way to escape from the grasp of ghost Andras or he will be pulled into the pit!

[sblock=Perception=15]
You notice the rope Brenn climbed down is shaking up and down, like someone is pulling on it.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Andras/Brenn]
You can hear shouting overhead, like an argument or confrontation is going on. Quickly Brenn starts to pull on the rope to signal to the others to pull them up.

With an oath, Quagmire leaps forward and grabs onto a protruding piece of Sir Exsixten's armor plating, tugging the warforged away from the edge.

OOC: Aid another for an athletics check to escape grab, if SirEx opts to do that. Auto-succeeds at +15

Jax raises his frost dagger to throw it at Brenn-Ghost, but he stops just short of releasing it when he notices the rope shaking. "H - ... Wait, how are you tugging that rope? You're acidified!" Jax backs up away from the hovering ghost.

He asks hopefully, "You're not really Brenn, are you?" Jax starts jogging in as wide a circle as he can to evade the ghost, trying to buy a little time.

OOC: Passive perception gets the rope.

I am what I seem to be, the ghostly figure of Brenn says. Soon all who have died in this pit shall come up using that rope. Do not worry, you shall join them soon. he says, hovering towards Jax.

[sblock=Andras/Brenn]
You hear the shaky voice of Jax form above.
"H - ... Wait, how are you tugging that rope? You're acidified!"

"You're not really Brenn, are you?"
[/sblock]

GM: I'm trying to attempt a round like format, so the ghosts won't "move" until everyone has "acted".

Anyone may also try getting rid of the ghosts if you have any ideas :)

Sir Exsixten produces a chunk of bark that was stuck in one of his knee joints and tosses it into the misty pit, points after it, and looks the ghost straight in the eye.

FETCH!

When the spirits (presumably) don't go for it, he begins struggling to free himself.

[sblock=Athletics 19 vs Fort]Athletics: 1d20+11+2(Quagmire)=19.[/sblock]

[sblock=Andras/Brenn]
I'm going to assume Brenn hurries out of the pit when he hears Jax.
[/sblock]

Sir ExSixTen successfully rips free of the ghost's icy grip. Meanwhile the Ghostly Brenn advances towards Jax and manages to corner the dodging Kobold. He reaches towards him and grabs on him with his icy grip.

Suddenly another figure emerges from the pit. It is the real Brenn climbing up the rope. In an instant the ghostly figure of Brenn starts to dissipate away; as the person fueling the ghosts image is no longer inside the mists.

Brenn tells the party that he needs their help to pull Andras up. While Sir ExSixTen keeps the ghostly Andras busy the rest of the party pulls Andras to safety. Upon seeing him you notice that his leg is in a splint made of a sword sheath. Once again the real one's appearance causes the ghostly Andras to break up and return to the mists of the pit.
