[Adventure] Desolation Island (DM: jsb420; JUDGE: covaithe)

Ixenvalignat watches the figures appear on the sea floor, and his heart races. The oracle from his homeland warned him of the dead that walk beneath the sea, and he is ready, "Alright! We need at least two men to keep these nortai kitril at bay while the rest of us row!"
OOC: Ixenvalignat is equally inept at both tasks, but I would prefer that he stay with the skill challenge, while others defend the boat.

He could probably do some damage, but others can do more. Here's hoping he doesn't screw up the skill challenge.

Athletics: 1d20+10=25
Religion: 1d20-1+2=20

Well that's a good start.

OOC: I could help defend the ship. I have a single round defense boost which will make it very difficult for the zombies to hit me, and I am fairly accurate with my attacks.

GM: Ixen (already posted) and Jesse have personally volunteered for the Skill Challenge. Ardens has been volunteered by another to do the Skill Challenge.

Cyrus, Damien, and Finnean, which two will defend the Loose Lady?

[sblock=OOC]Cyrus will defend the boat.

Just a quick clarification question before I roll up and post. You said that the defending PC makes two attacks. Now does Cyrus make two attacks himself or are you meaning that as a defending team we both make one attack a piece. Also if Cyrus makes two attacks does he benefit from Attack Finesse (which only happens once a turn) on both attacks? As normally it's not possible for him to make two attacks. Just wishing a clarification. Good with any answer.[/sblock]

GM: [MENTION=85506]Darksteed[/MENTION]: Each defender would make TWO attacks per turn. With 2 defenders, that a total of 4 attacks each round (2 per defender; 1 per each Dead One). I'll say you can benefit from Attack Finesse but only on one attack per round. Also, since it is a pseudo-combat, no Combat Advantage

GM: [MENTION=6670772]DemonicJester[/MENTION]: With Clever Shot, if you push, the dead one would have to make a save or fall off, effectively removing it from combat (Prone or slow wouldn't work).

Everyone: sorry about the second part of the challenge. It's not quite working as well as i had envisioned it would. Let's push through (I limiting Stage 2 to 2 rounds).

*Cyrus growls out as the zombies invade the boat. He leaps to his feet and draws his blades with lightning reflexes.*

Take the reigns.

*He calls out to Ixen as he passes him on the tiny boat. He dashes towards the nearest of the zombies. His blades dancing together, slashing in unison. His Rapier slashing high and taking the frontal assault well he slips his dagger into the zombies ribcage from the side. Cyrus tears through the crowd of zombies. One badly injured, the other dropping dead after a single blow to the head. His dagger slipping into the zombie's temple.*

[sblock=Actions]Two Attacks: Attacking 2 zombies.
-Attack 1: 22 vs. AC against zombie 1. 1d10+5 damage + 1d8 Attack Finesse + 1d10 Assassin's Strike (19 damage). (Sorry forgot to add the Assassin's Strike into the DR)

GM: That CRIT kills one of the dead ones (Zombie Weakness) and counts as a Critical Success (+2 successes)!

19 damage to the other one. 1 hp remaining

nice round.

Jesse, the oaf he is, couldn't keep his balance. As he struggles, he makes the boat rock hard.

His stomach lurched forward as he gripped onto the sides of the boat. As he stabilized himself he started praying...

"Oh, Keeper of the Sea, help us vanquish this poison from your waters. Let them not pollute your sacred kingdom any longer! May the Blessed Blue guide us! May the Blessed Blue watch over his child, for this dragonborn was of his creation!"

[sblock=rolls]Acrobatics: 1d20=4 (FAIL)
Religion: 1d20+10+2-1=19 (SUCCESS)
(+2 circumstantial bonus and penalty for failing Acrobatics check)

[sblock=OOC] jsb, you gotta stop putting yourself down. The challenge and on a bigger scale, the campaign is going great (in my humble opinion) It's just that some foggy areas needed some clarity. Once you clear away the mist from the eyes, only shall you see the world's true beauty.
That aside, I find myself to be enjoying playing a religious character. I like myths and folklore, and I these past few rounds as Jesse have given me some nice insight. (Like how praying and chanting can soothe the soul)[/sblock]
