STepping up beside the halfling, Silvercat smiles in a friendly manner and says 'What others do you speak of, friend?'

Devlin tries to keep a curious eye on the dwarf giant, but focuses most of his attention on the passage in the back of the room in case any more "visitors" decide to drop in.

"I'm called jef. The others don't speak much. Jef smashes them when they come up the cavern. Their two tribes, one is like me, only smaller. The other is as big as me, but they only speak grunt language and ugly like my foot."

Jef points at his left foot, which is stump wrapped in layers and layers of burlap and leather straps. Some blood stains the cloth where Jef's toes should be.

"Last time I see surface visitors they were real nice. They gave me food and helped me to claim my home. We worked to drive back another group of others, they looked like that one..." Jef points at Silvercat. "They came from deeper under the cavern, and attacked my parents. My mother smashed them good though, but she is fine now. The surface heroes saved her. She let's me do the hunting now, though."

Failing to relax, especially now that he has been fingered as like the earlier attackers, Silvercat keeps a wary eye for this things mother...

Gregorian, still on pain, and not to happy with the situation... at least until this point. At least now they have someone to talk to, and lets face it, that's his only true skill.

"Well, I consider it fortunately that thse that came beofre us has warmed your heart to our coming. Please, warm yourself at our fire, and share with me a repast... breakfast as it were. I was just about to have some, and since you have none and hunt, feel free to take some of mine." Gregorian hands him a full day's worth of rations that had been prepared the best they could over fire with water. It's still just dried bread, jurky and gruel, but it's the best he had.

"Now that you are confortable, perhaps you would like to tell us more about your home. This is the first time we've been here, and would like to hear about what is ahaed so as to best prepare ourselves." Gregorian smiles with a genuine looking smile on his too-pretty face.

Whatever food is offered, the hulking dwarf will gobble it down as fast as he can make it fit in his mouth. "Prepare yourselves for what? You have food and water... what else does one need?" Jef seems to wonder what sorts of preparation you are refering to, before he has to ask, "So what are you doing down here?"

Thinking that the Ogre-Dwarf wouldn't trust his offers of food anyways, Silvercat pulls an apple from his sack and eats it himself, eeing the beast all the time.
Then, either out of compassion or curiosity regarding what it would do, he pulls a second apple out and tosses ot to the beast.

He stays quite throughout, however.

The giant dwarf certainly does not seem aware of Silvercat's feelings, unless perhaps he is hiding it flawlessly. Jef picks up the apple, and quickly devours it. Finally it becomes aware of some of the group's injuries and inquires, "So, besides why your down here, what happened to you? Your hurting, aren't you?"

Yes many of us are hurt. We're here to find out what happened to the people who lived here and to study the mechanical creatures the guard this place. Says Shariff. He will go back to looking at the remains of a few of the damaged units an see what he can figure out.

OOC: I've decided to take Shariff's second level as Rogue. The concept is that he will become more and more focused on the mechanicals and thier workings combined with his sorcerous traits he will become a magical traps expert.
