Deciding discretion is the better part of valor, Devlin watches the area for a few more moments, then returns to the rest of the group to report what he saw.

You hear nothing nor see anything out of the ordinary while you wait. When you return to everyone, Sullivan says, "Theres none of those constructs down there, are there?"

(Since I'm going to be gone for a week, I'd like you guys to update your characters to 2nd level. Also, I'd enjoy reading your RPing for after your friends recover and all that.)

"I noticed no constructs, just that strange face in the shadows that seemed to fade away. It appears we have a decision to make here, do we want to follow the mines to the left or the right? In all honesty, I could detect no difference in the two paths." Devlin slumps down against the wall and lays his crossbow across his lap. His injuries, minor as they are, are finally taking their toll on his stamina and he closes his eyes in an effort to relax.

OoC:Woohoo, Rogue 1/Fighter 1 here I come.Mwuahahaha!
Mmm...Weapon Finesse....

Gregorian painfully makes it to his knees. "Excuse me, for asking, but what happened?" He had lost consciousness with the last attack of the construct and now. looking around, sees the others staring ahead towards the darkness.

Looking in that direction, Gregorian shrugged. Perhaps they could see something he could not. "Where to know?" he follows up with to break the transe the others seem to be in.

I suggest now that we have had some rest, Lets get moving. I have a funny feeling that we're going to get in trouble if we wait here any longer. Shariff says. He seems a bit more confidant in his stance.

Gregorian thinks that tough he was unconscious, he does not feel rested, though he says this to himself, uttering not a word. He forces himself to stand, and bites back a curse as the pain in his knee and side send shivers of pain through his body. "Alright, let's be on our way. The sooner we find who is behind this, the sooner we can leave."

Silvercat dreams of his new ability with his blades, finally masteringthe art if Finesse.

Devlin opens his eyes, feeling slightly better after the brief respite. Eyeing the remains of the construct that was in this room, he pulls his pack of tools out of his pack and makes his way over to it. Sitting down next to it, he begins to examine what's left, taking it apart as best he can.

"Gregorian, if you don't mind, maybe you could help me out. I'm trying to find out what makes these things tick."

OOC: using Disable Device to try and dismantle the construct, taking as much time as possible with everyone else recuperating.

Gregorian comes over at the call of Devlin. "I'll offer what aid I can, but I must warn you, I have more of a knack for people then I do devices. And besides, I think the chances are that these things are more magical then machine. The mines where dwarven, not gnomish, right?" He tones the remark to sound trully curious as to what makes the things tick and asks the last question as if defering to Devin's expertise, to boost his self image.

Gregorian studies what the machine is made from and how it was placed together. "It's pretty delicate, really." he notes, pointing out the damaged components. "I'm surprised. Dwarven craftmen is rumored to be hardier then this would imply. Do you think that these where placed here afte r the dwarves had already left, and just made to look like mining constructs? I've heard dwarves are proud miners, and I do nto think they would wnat to give up the pleasure of thier mining task to such as these, do you?"
