"The little metal bugs?"
Jef looks over at Sullivan, "You were the lead man that was tearing up the cave looking for treasures. You let out the metal bugs. Why did you do that?"
Jef looks at Sullivan with a sort of angry stare, but Sullivan seems completely surprised that Jef even exists down in these caverns when he says, "I've no idea what your talking about. The creatures were NOT intentionally released, though it seems quite obvious that they were awakened by some other means. How come I've never seen you down here before, Jef? How could this be a usual place for you if I've been all over this side of the ruins and never seen one of these others you speak of?"
Jef replies to Sullivan's inquiries, "You released the bugs that belong to the short fat men with the long noses when you turned on their clock. Why'd you turn on thier clock? It isn't ever supposed to be turned on unless something really really bad happens, and it doesn't look like anything bad is happening down there." Jef's face suddenly appears quite surprised and frightened, "Is something going on on the surface level? What is happening that made you turn on the clock?"
Gur chimes in, "Theres been some odd weather recently. Tornados and the like. Nothing too incredible though... even though there was that really creepy guy in the woods earlier. But how did you avoid Sullivan and his pokers this whole time, Jef?"
Jef answers up, "Jef may be big, but I know the way in and out of these tunnels much better than anyone from the surface. The others don't live on this level though, they like to be as far away from the surface as they can..."
When silvercat asks his questions, Jef continues, "I've been living here my whole life. Long enough to grow big enough to hunt for my family, even if it is just my mom. My mother's folk are not close, unless they have run out of food and mushrooms. They sometimes go to the surface if there is no food or mushrooms in their homes. Mother grows mushrooms and sometimes helps defend our home. My home is where the metal bugs cannot go, cause the statue stops them."
