Shariff

Let me take a look around before you all scrunch through. Honestly. How you big people live in a world made for people my size I'll never know. Shariff quips as he "steaths" down the hall.

As you start your movements forwards, you notice the ground is unusually slick and smooth. As you pass by the barrels without an additional light source (assuming you didn't want to bring a torch too close to the barrels while lit), you notice that some of the wood is bulged and severely weakened, especially on the bottoms of the top row of barrels. The slimy substance creeps along nearly next to you, almost like it's moving. When you reach the end of the row of barrels, the room opens up, a series of levers attached to gears and chains sit along the walls to this room, bronze pipes rusted away yet still connected to the machines in a meaningful way.

Shariff knowing he's in the midst of trouble casts shield. Ok. the good news is I'm not dead. The bad news is It's just a matter of time before the Ooze in the barrels sences me. anyone got a light?

Silvercat and others: You can see the thin coat of slime peaking out of the cracks of the barrels, but not much more. It looks more disgusting than anything else.

Shariff: Gur strips Sullivan of one of his unlit torches and tosses it across the gap of barrels. It rolls a little short, but is only two feet from where you now stand, ready to be picked up (and lit if you've got something to light it with).

Popgoes the ferrit bounds over to the torch and drags it over to Shariff. Thanks little buddy. Guys I suggest you get out of the blast radius. I'm gonna see if the slime likes fire.

Gur looks at Shariff across the gap for a second and scratches his messy face, "what?"

He also waits to see what Silvercat has to say before he moves.

Silvercat, unsure of the effects of fire on this ooze, nevertheless pulls out his three flasks of oil, setting them aside as he lights a torch (from another torch if possible, from one of his few tindertwigs if not...).
Ready (?) for what comes, he waits to see what fortune brings for the halfling...

Silvercat can light the torch with any of the others. Gur waits for Shariff's conformation before he gets a few dozen feet away in the corridor... "So you say this is going to blow up? How far back do we need to be?"
