As Silvercat and Shariff set the barrels ablaze, everyone takes cover from any sort of danger. At the least, Silvercat and Shariff only move far enough away that they can still make a distinct observation of the barrels as they burn away.
Silvercat (Spot Result 18): You watch the flames build up, filling the hallway with a mixture of smokes. Because the smoke is drifting in your direction more than towards Shariff, it's difficult to see anything above the flames. At first, the fire is nothing special, though smouldering quite well for a few barrels of unknown fluid. Soon, however, it becomes apparent that the mass of jelly under the flames is moving, spreading across the floor in all directions as a solid mass. After a few moments of smouldering, the flames become significantly stronger, bursting and crackling as if they were under arcane influence, but more surprisingly a sound is being emitted from the gel. The sound is very similar to a loud squeeling and screaming. Sullivan is cowering away in the far rear of the group, not paying particular attention to the sight.
Shariff (Spot Result 19): The pire is lit on your end an instant before Silvercat, and you just notice the slime on the edges of the barrels recoil and then burst into flame. The entire line of former kegs are soon burning violently, forcing you to retreat, but you are able to discern a few facts about the pire:
- The shrink away from the flames at first, deep into the barrels, until the contents are nolonger contained.
- The slime soon begins to expand across the floor as it's containers collapse.
- A sort of screaming sound is made by the slime as it smokes and burns away.
- The slime also begins to burst into sparks of greens, reds, oranges, and blues in certain areas.
- The smoke drifts in the direction of Silvercat and the others more-so than in your direction.
All: After the flames burn themselves out (10 minutes), the barrels are nothing more than ashen wood and cinders. The ground is litered with the garbage of the burn, and the smoke moved northward once it reached the main passage.
