Shariff turns the knobs back to where they were. Oh My. I think this might be aware that I'm doing something. He thinks a moment and just says Hello? to the orb.

After you return the orb to it's original position, another questioning empathic transmission falls over everyone in the chamber. First it questions and wonders and worries, then it turns back off, except now everyone is aware that there isn't an absense of this thought in it's original mode. Instead, when the valves are in their original position, the sentience inside of the orb emits a very faint and very droll emotion of boredom over the room...

"Oh amn, and I thought I was board! Turn it off and put it out of it's missory!" he says emphatically, not used to feeling anything for anyone except himself... and he didn't like the sensation.

If I had to consider everyones emotions the same way as this device forces me to, then it would be very difficult to do the things that I need to!, the rogue thinks to himself, not liking the turn his thought had taken from this devices intrusions.

Shariff looks for a seam or opening. If he finds none he will put his head and hands on the sphere in exasperation and just think at the machine. What are you? How do you work? (Basicly I want to use Use magic device on the sphere.)

Devlin considers the device. Is it a sentient machine, or is the sentience from something trapped inside the machine?

The mechanics of the machine are too difficult to figure out so quickly. You look for other tools and toys, but the device itself has only the valves and the chance that you could puncture it if you used a weapon that can pierce the bronze. There is little explanation for the drolling empathic "noise" that flows through the chamber from the sphere.

As you turn the valve, you hear a loud hissing noise. The cranks on the left and right suddenly turn themselves full circle (closing the hot and cold aether's path), and the last empathic thought feels like terror. Immediately everyone hears a screaming in their minds for two seconds, then nothing. The sphere stops glowing completely and is now still and silent.
