Adventure: Fire and Ice

[sblock=Skiff]
The skiff is more like a keelboat, about 50' long, a single square sail and some oars to supplement the sail. It looks capable of sailing on the sea.

I'll have a better update tomorrow when I have some more time.

As the group is cleaning up the bodies, a man will come up to them. He grabs the beggar by the scruff of the neck and pulls him close, speaking in whispers. After a few seconds of furtive back and forth, the large man lets the beggar go and shoves him away.

He turns to you and the very tall, well muscled man speaks "Here yer looking for someone to take you Jeron Monastary? Izzat so? I so happen to know where it is and will take you there, for a price. I'll need 100 gold pieces and your help getting there, I don't take any backtalk from my crew and you follow my orders to the letter." he waits expectantly.

-''A captain?'' Hadrak says hopefully. ''100 Gold pieces?!'' he says glumly.

A battle rages in the dwarf's soul between two of the race's greatest aversion. Letting go of lots of gold versus... Water. In the end, the greater fear wins.

-''All right, I'll chip in. Hell, I'll pay the whole ride if I have to. Let's get going already.''

Well, I was just going with Don's lead. I'll probably let it drop after this, just couldn't resist one last drop.

On an aside, barring any major objection from anybody here, we'll move along tomorrow.

[sblock=OOC]Fine by me, let's ship out!

Also, I assume we've had our short rest?[/sblock]

Ingot stops its grim labor and looks around at its companions. "All right! Let's go! Uhh... I'm afraid I don't have any gold." The warforged looks troubled, then brightens. "But I'm good at taking orders! I think. And Hadrak, I will pay you back when I can."

Ingot turns to face the imposing looking captain. "Ah... Captain? It's lucky for us you know the way to this monastery. Have you been there before? How long is the voyage?" It listens intently for the response.

[sblock=Insight]Is this guy working with the bad guys or something?

Hey, a "crit"! Maybe despite its naivete, Ingot could actually tell! :)[/sblock]

"It isss 100 gold for the round trip fare, isss it not my fine captian?" asks Skalisss. Turning to Hadrak he adds: "worry not friend, I will cover you".

"If the termsss are ssset then let usss be away."

Turning to the warforged, the captain says "I've been there a couple times, usually pilgrims looking to go there. It's not too tough a ride, it'll take a few hours to get there so settle in. I'll need someone to help me keep a lookout, a couple of you strong guys to man the oars, and if any of you know anything about the sea can stay up here with me to help navigate."

[sblock=Ingot]
He seems to be telling the truth.

[sblock=OOC]
Stupid Gmail being down right now can't access my notes. Shortly will be a skill challenge. Maybe later tonight if gmail's working later.

[sblock]I don't have a single one of these skills, but by virtue of having WIS 20 my perception is okay.[/sblock]

-''Errr... I'll keep a lookout.'' Hadrak says with eyes shut. ''When we get moving.''
