[sblock=Slow and Run (Judge maybe)]Re: slowed and running, actually you can run while slowed. Slowed does not mean you can only move two squares, it means your speed is now 2, for all movement modes. Running is not a movement mode. It is an action which allows you to move your speed + 2, so running while slowed allows you to move 2 + 2 = 4.

Basically, slowed is a pretty sucky condition. Just go ask my wizard.

I'm pretty sure about this, but I can see how there'd be disagreement so we could use a ruling from the judge.

Oh, just found this question conclusively answered by Sage Advice, which I guess is not 100% official, but it's pretty close.[/sblock]

Comment on the Slowed thing... that's a really messed up way to get around Slow. I believe their ruling/your DMship, but I've always read that Slowed=you can move 2 squares on your own. If you can basically run 4 all the time, must make all those people in heavy armor cry to know they are 1 point away from being in a perma-sloweded state lol.[/sblock]
 

[sblock=ooc]The other common cheesy way around slow is to charge. At least you can't combine that with run to be able to charge 4 squares. In this case, Papo's zone plus the slow did prevent the swarms from charging him... you have to move at least two squares to charge, which is impossible for a slowed creature to do with two squares of difficult terrain around him. (Granted, the swarms auras are much worse of a problem than their attacks.)

There are also so many powers that just say "Move X squares" or "Shift Y squares". Slow does not affect these at all. In the LEB adventure I'm playing in, my wizard used an encounter power to slow an enemy, who responded by using a power that was something like "Shift 6 squares. Each enemy who is adjacent to you during your movement is blinded." So the jerk just waltzed right through the entire party, blinding everybody, despite my using an encounter power to try to keep him at bay. Lovely.

Slow is just some weak sauce.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]That's true. I was thinking that Papol would just use his own winter's herald attack power (it's a blast), but it'd probably be better to wait for her help. She could potentially kill both of them if she hits. (Or Jynnx could run up and taunt the one into taking an opportunity attack against him, the rider from the last Vanguard's Lightning attack would finish it.)

I still haven't heard anything from her. Hopefully she'll post soon.[/sblock]
 

[sblock=OOC/tactics]I was thinking Cillani blast them, with Papol finishing off any remaining with his form's attack, and jynxx do something to the slinger with a word for our fallen fighter. OR Cillani blast them, Jynxx tries to finish the snakes, and papol goes off to mark the slinger. Since I don't have access to the maps at work I'm doing this all by memory, so I don't know for sure if the location/movement squares mesh.[/sblock]

Jynxx will double move to J14 (going on the opposite side of the gas cloud, next to the goliath) and use his majestic word on him. Giving him 5 additional hitpoints and letting him shift 1 square. (next turn I'm hoping will be a healing check on Kaey...[/sblock]
 

[sblock=OOC]I am unsure how Jynxx gets to J14 unless he dives right through the swarms and poison (which sounds like a bad idea) Also, I ended in square H8, so I am out of word range from J14 anyway[/sblock]
