(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jairik looks at Lydia before speaking, "Fascinating, but tell me, do you haul from the mine that Kreepto was telling everyone about. I don't mean to be so blunt, but he seems to think something there is not right, can you shed any light who the miners are that work that lode, and are they associate with the guild? I apologize for asking so many questions, but this tale of Kreepto's has aroused my curiosity."

Jairik, noticing the others are begin to get up, excuses himself for a moment and casts mesage, indicating as the target Kunst. He says, "It is me, Jairik, do not be so hasty in leaving. I am about to find out some information, I hope, that may be of some value in puzzling out what is happening at the mines. And if you are all thinking of going there, I should not like to be left behind."

As jairik waits for a reply, he gives a sheepish grin to Lydia, and motions for her to forgive him for the interuption.

"All of the mines are guarded by the fortress to the south, in the mountains. I would warn you, ignore Kreepto. Bad luck has followed him for as long as I have known him, and he only survives through pure cowardice. Some say he is cursed. I wouldn't know anything about the innerworkings of the mine, I'm a mercenary plain and simple."

Jairik to Lydia, "To follow your advice would be truly wise, but alas, I am a fool for adventure and seduced by the unknown. I must take my leave, though I hope our paths cross again." With that Jairik stands and bows to the lady and moves toward the exit.

As he crosses the taproom, he scans the crowd looking for any sign that the movements of the group have caused anyone to act provocatively, i.e. reach for a weapon or leave the tavern in haste. As he moves across the tavern he relays to Kunst, " I will meet you all outside, try not to leave al at once as it could attract unwanted attention, from either the miners or the guild."

Vanadan heard the group talking. After awhile he thought that he could join this expedition, since there seemed to be no jobs to be found for him, atleast no jobs for a mage that is. After gathering his courage the gray elf said with his amazingly calm, slightly persuasive voice:

"It seems that I overheard your conversation and it has come to my knowledge that you are gathering some sort of a group that will investigate this mining-thingie that the kobold told you about. I am glad to inform you, that I will accompany you as a magical expert if this is suitable for the benefit of the group. No doubt, if this case has something to do with magic, I'm sure my services are needed."

Since this rat-hole has nothing to offer to a gifted mage like me, I might look for something from those mines. He smiles for the idea of sliping few gems to his pockes. The would surely cover up my studies, if there isn't anything else to do.

Wogar slurps loudly at his beer, playing the oaf, while his keen orcish ears listen to the conversations about him. The kobold's "tale", if it could be called such, sounds enticing...gems, possible danger, a possible plot by miners...what are they after? It reeks of the sinister, but also of opportunity. Still, there are many flaws, it is TOO open, too many know, too many have taken interest, who knows what ears besides Wogar's have heard what he has, how many hidden knives will move against these bravo's curiousity.

The elf trouble-maker sours his mood, another opportunist looking for a cheap thrill at the expense of one of his kin... a flash of rage at this has Wogar imagining dulling the elf's smugness with his fist, this thought at least makes him smile.

The man he was watching earlier is curious, something to that one, perhaps seasoned at this sort of game, as he seems to work hard at dampening his interest in the kobold's tale, but his conversation with the she-warrior is a mystery, another compatriot like the dwarf? Enemy or Ally?

Not to be outdone by the smug elf, Wogar volunteers as well, he rises up behind the elf, towering over him:

"Magic is good, but steel is better, and orcish steel is best. I too will lend my sword to this expedition, if you will have me."

Nace smiles slightly, seeing the towering half-orc looming over the nearby elf. He pushes away from the table and hooks thumbs in his belt. "Indeed, it seems we're all agreed that at least this venture poses some interest..." the youth says quietly, so hopefully just those around him can hear. "The bard's idea carries merit; hunters follow herds. The fortress poses a problem, perhaps but it's something we can discuss. Elsewhere, perhaps?"

Vanadan startles as he notices the half-orc behind him. Quickly hiding his panic he turns towards the half-orc with a sneer on his face. "Every metal can be easily bended by magic. Want to test yours?" he says standing as threatening as he can.

"Outside perhaps," Vanadan replies to Grog keeping his eyes on Wogar.

OOC: Damn I'm evil! :p

Jagos studies the elf for a moment, considering whether he really has the power he claims, and if he then could learn some of it from him. He decides that such thoughts can wait, for nothing good could come from being seen as part of any struggle between the wizard and the half-orc that seem ready to break out at any moment. He leaves the tavern a few minutes after Jairik. Once outside he quickly looks around the street outside for the bard and makes quick eye contact with him before standing against a wall, trying to keep unnoticed. He tries to watch both the tavern and the bard while waiting for the others to come out.

Once outside, Jairik breathes in the cool night air, and lazily ambles up the street, humming a tune to himself. His eyes are active, looking for movement in the shadows, and darting to the door of the Father's Wish, looking for anyone who might be following him.

He sees the rogue leave the bar, and Jairik gives him a nod as he continues up the street. About half a block up, Jairik stops and starts patting his pockets like he has lost something, then turns on his heal and strolls back towards the bar.
