"Magic is good, but steel is better, and orcish steel is best. I too will lend my sword to this expedition, if you will have me."

What pomp we have here. With an inward chuckle at the orcish steel comment and a smirk at the elf, Kunst gives a word or two of advice, "Magic and steel work quite well together. Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me." Beckoning for Jaret to follow and giving a kindly nod to Kreepto, Kunst takes his leave of the Inn, thanking the waitress on his way out with a bashful smile and a silver. Paranoia it seems runs high here, everyone seems ready to brandish blade or magic at the slightest chance.

Once outside he drops his pack near a wall and waits for Jaret to meet him.

After tipping the waitress, Jaret follows Kunst out of the tavern. Jaret asks Kunst, Is everyone always so quick to take offence in cities or is there something more at work here?

What do you think might be happening at the mines? If there is something odd going on there I shall be just as glad to have a few fighters with us.

Jaret then addresses those standing outside. I am a cleric of Chenet, and as such I can offer heling should we have need of it, some skill in battle, and whatever gifts the god of fire and forge gives me. Kunst here is a wizard and is familiar with forges and mines. What abilities do the rest of you bring to assist in this venture?

"We should get going if we want to catch up with the rest of the group," Vanadan says finally after awhile. "You don't want to miss all the fun, do you?"

Huh, this fellow is big! Well... more meat between me and the enemy.

He sneers carelesly to the half-orc, passes him and walks out leaving his unfinished wine to the table.

Nace grins at the waitress that takes his mug, and slides three more copper bits across as a further tip. Then he moves to acknowledge a couple of people he knows slightly at one table, then goes on outside. There, he joins the others once he spots where they've gathered.

The slight youth comes up as the priest, Jaret, addresses the others. "I know the area, somewhat; I've served as a caravan guard, bodyguard, hunter and desert tracker out in the wastelands. I'm pretty good with a bow," the boy says as he finds a place to stand.

"Every metal can be easily bended by magic. Want to test yours?" he says standing as threatening as he can.

Wogar's eyes go hard at the elf's foolish challenge. His trained eyes assess the elf, his stance, his weapons, his medicine bag. The wickedly spiked gauntlet on his hand rattles slightly as he mentally lines up the strike to the elf's throat that will kill him before he can utter a single Word of Power or grab a single spell component.

"He is inexperienced" Wogar thinks to himself, no veteran mage would challenge a warrior so close before he could prepare himself.

"He is brave", he thinks, despite his disdain of the elf's demeanor, his courage is admirable.

"If I kill him, here, now, there is no challenge, no honor, I will go to the gallows for sure. And there are no gems or adventure at the end of a rope." Wogar concludes.

"HA! HA! HA!", Wogar laughs, The elf has confused his berries with his brains! Save your spells and your death, little one, we may need both in the mines!"

Wogar follows too, again impressed by the elf's brave dismissal of him. Seeing the gathering outside, and those that are introducing themselves, Wogar waits for a proper moment and makes his own introduction.

I am Wogar of the Evil Eyes! Master of steel and the arts of unsubtle persuasion!"

As Jairik nears the tavern ,and the throng that has started to gather outside it, he gives one more look at his surroundings to see if anything seems off.

Hearing the other introductions, Jairik adds, "My name is Jairik, I trained under the bard Mielkos. But do not take me for a mere minstrel. The harp I play has only one string, and those who here its tune find it to be their last." Jairik makes a motion as though he is pulling back his bow, and then laughs. "I am also adept at gathering information and negotiations, and my knowledge has been found useful more than a few times."

As Jairik talks he sizes up the other members of the party. Wizards and a priest are good things to have around, but when the chips are down, he likes the idea of having strong swordarms by his side.

While the others introduce themselves, Jagos thinks hard on what he can say without giving the others a catch on him. Finally when it is his turn he says: "Jagos Blueburn. I used to serve the army, scouting out enemy positions and getting into their headquarters to collect various important items. I can get us past any obstacle in our way and could help in a fight as well."
Bluffcheck: d20+6 [dice]
He considers mentioning the magical abilities that he soon hopes to manifest but decides to keep that secret for the moment. Instead he adds: "We should move away from here." He looks to Nace: "You are the one from around here, know any place we could go?"

Grog goes outside and sees the group.

He introduces himself, "I am Grog. I fight"

He looks to the human from inside, he trusts him for some reason,
and says, "Yes, if you know the area, where can we go and talk?"

OOC: I'll try to think of a good meeting place

[dice]

The youth thinks for a minute, looks around at the darkened streets. "Not here, but..." He thinks again, shakes his head. "There are so many places where someone might listen.. I don't know."
