(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

"You must not have understood me. I meant that I'd get you aboard the caravan. Aboard as in 'cargo.' And only one cart, and if your caught, you've got nobody to blame but yourselves. So, you up for it or not? I need to know so I can catch the caravan accountant while he's still less than sober..."

Looking slightly ill at ease, Kunst gives a quiet word to Jaret, "I cannot take her up on the offer friend, I'm near my last crowns and cannot even manage five for myself. Although, it does seem like an easy break to be let in like this, not much for smuggling myself in a box though. What say you?"

Wogar considers the Lady's offering.

The woman's plan has merit, it could save us much trouble, but also cause us much. Fortune favors the fool, I think it is worth it."

Jaret quietly speaks to Kunst, I have the money, but this plan seems none too wise to me. Why is this mercenary offering to smuggle us into the place she's supposed to be guarding? Whether she plans to betray us or her employers, we are the ones who will bear the brunt of any treachery. If she has some other motive, I doubt that I am wise enough to discern it. Why not simply present ourselves at the mine and offer our services directly? If there is trouble there, maybe your expertise can be of assistance and it's rare that a cleric can't be of use.

He addresses the rest of the group. I prefer a more straightforward approach. Let's go to the mines and offer our assistance to them directly rather than trying to sneak in.

Who owns the mines? Maybe we can speak to them or one of their agents and get a warrant to explore any anomalies?

Jaret thinks to himself - "I don't mind bending the rules, but why be devious when being direct will work as well or better?"

"They're obviously hiding something and because of their hidden motives it's unlikely that they would just let us in and investigate their doings. Despite the fact that I don't like the idea of squeezing in a box with the orc-twins here," refering to Wogar and Grog, "I must say, that this is much better idea than just march in."

Confident in his abillity to sneak in unaided and not keen on the idea of sitting stuffed into a crate, Jagos asks Lydia: "How often do these caravans leave? Maybe we could try some other ways and return to this plan if they don't work out?" He studies the others as he continues, hoping he won't have to regret doing this with them: "Me and the hunter could probarbly get in on our own, or maybe some of us would be able to get some work in the mine, as guards or something?" He turns to Lydia again: "How risky would it be for someone on the inside to bring others in?"

"Speaking with the owners might work, but if it doesn't, we have lost initiative and any other way will be harder. We should at least see what we can find out on our own first."

"Well, since Nertul here payed for four of your ways, I was thinking that gold might not be a problem for you. I guess I was wrong. The mines owned by the guild, but I'm surprised you didn't know that already."

"The caravans move in and out on a regular basis, but I'm not going to hold open this offer. You all seem honest and you want to try helping the smelly scaly little one here, and I respect that. I've a personal code, and I follow it to the letter. If your not riding with me, then your welcome to take your own road, but I'm not going to waste time here waiting to be overheard by a guild thief. I'm going, and if I see you at the trade quarter in the morning so-be-it."

"You and the hunter will 'probably' be spotted within two miles of the fortress and they will dispatch a group to kill you if you try to approach. You won't be able to get work in this town from the guild, not unless you've been here for two generations. The only exception I've ever heard of is Kreepto here, but I guess you could always get lucky."

Jagos stares after Lydia as she leaves before deciding that she probarbly knows what she's talking about. "I guess we don't have much choice then." he says dejectedly.

Nace gives a nod at Lydia's remark. "They would spot me, I think; I can move pretty quietlym when I'm stalking something, but guards will have watchpoints and ares where there is no cover. I don't think I have a problem following her. Really, my curiosity is greater than that."
