Pathfinder 1E Adventure ideas for a group of first timers?

plus the joy of leveling up is slightly stolen if you don't have to earn the first four or five. i mean a level one to a level two is a huge jump in and of itself. especially if you don't get a bab at first level. think of how much experience they're gonna have to get for their first actual level up

One option: start them at first level, run them through some short series of encounters that aren't too intense, then level up to 2nd. That gives them a taste of lowest level, an idea of what leveling up is about as a player goal, and they get a 2nd level worth of durability before you move onward.

Like I said, I'm going to give it a shot at the higher level. If it does not work out because they have difficulties I'll have them level down for the next session.

I have faith in these players, I'm 95% positive that they'll be able to handle the higher level start and will have a great first time defeating an adventure designed for lower level characters to give them a sense of accomplishment without putting any of their characters in real danger of death.

I also gave them six ability arrays to choose from, rather than rolling or using point-buy. All of the arrays are balanced in terms of point-buy and allowed the players to choose whether to have abilities that emphasis one or two scores, or even have a completely balanced character.

I'll let everyone knows how the first game goes on Friday :)
