(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

Let's see how tough this guy is when he can't breathe. This is dangerous. Shut up. Tandi runs in, attempting to grapple the crazed halfling and pull him to the ground.

Unarmed +4, Grapple +7

*Tandi is able to lay her hands on the creature that was once a halfling easily enough, but it manages to wriggle from her grasp before she can get it in a good grapple. Also, the sand bites her particularly fiercely for daring to close in so near to its master.*

*Meanwhile, the creature grins and opens its jagged maw wide, sharp teeth splayed and dripping blood as it whirls its scimitars like a whirlwind, attacking all in reach. Cade dodges the attack meant for him and uses his skill at mounted combat to protect Alton, but the blow against Thurgan connects and slices him for minor damage. Tandi nimbly rolls away from the blow, but the man with the silver dagger is hit and combined with the sand from before is now greatly injured.*

*The woman with the light blue eyes furrows her brows and concentrates, and the halfling reels back as if struck.*

*The healer girl moves over to another of the injured, this one inside the sand's area and thus in grave danger, and shakes with exhaustion, managing to heal him from the brink so he can stagger out and avoid death.*

*Another of the desert people is injured enough that he also tries to fire a bow from a distance, and he also misses badly.*

(OOC: Tandi's Touch Attack 11 + 6 = 17, Hit.
Grapple 1 + 7 = 8 vs (18) Fails

A attacks Cade 3 + 7 = 10, Thurgan 13 + 7 = 20, Tandi 6 + 7 = 13, LP1 15 + 7 = 22
Thurgan takes 5 Damage
LP1 takes 6 Damage

A's Will Save 7 + 6 = 13, Fail.
A takes 24 Damage, total 43

LP5's Attack 5 + 1 = 6, Miss.

Scun's Turn)

Thurgan - Init: +2; AC: 19; HP: 26/36; Atk: W-axe +8 (1d10+5), X-bow +5 (1d8+1)

Thurgan pressed the attack with his magical waraxe, trying to keep a flank for added potential damage.

(OOC: Alright, I'll pick for Scun)

*Low on spells because he has clearly been casting Endure Elements on everyone who is still wearing their armour, Scun charges in to attack with his trusty spear, but he misses badly, injured by the sand as well.*

*Meanwhile, the last desert dweller still standing calls forth a long spike of hardened sand that attempts to impale the creature, but cracks in the sand whirlwind's aura.*

(OOC: Scun misses and takes 10 Damage.

LP5 misses.

Cade's turn)

Cade has Anton attack, and then steps back and jabs him with his lance.

OOC: or vice versa if I'm too close. Don't forget the free trip.

*Cade and Alton both miss badly in the blowing sand, and they are scored by the biting sting. Thurgan slices with a powerful blow and knocks the creature down, but most of the damage dealt to it so far seems to be shallow and healing up. The man with the silver dagger delivers a killing blow, slitting the creature's throat.*

"We are obliged to you for your help," the blue-eyed woman nods, as the healer tries to help the wounded and catalog the dying.

"Yes, you fight well. We should share water and shade, if you desire to do so. Even you, halfling."

(OOC: Cade's Attack 2 + 9 = 11. Alton's Attack 5 + 5 = 10, Both Miss.

Cade takes 8 Damage and Alton takes 3 Damage.

Thurgan's Attack 14 + 10 = 24, Hit.

Thurgan takes 5 Damage.

A takes 19 Damage, total 62 and is knocked unconscious--most of the damage is *not* lethal.

LP1 coup de graces and kills it, ending the whirlwind as it dies)

"Yes. They say it was not always this way, but so it is. You are the first halfling that has not beein like this in centuries. As such, it is lucky you found us before you were found by a patrol."
