(OOC: You're okay with the penalty for shooting into melee, right?)

OOC: What's it in melee with? I should be well past it.

(OOC: You said charge in, not charge past. I know you have ride-by-attack, but don't make me assume that you were going to use it--there's reasons not to (you take less damage from the sand if you don't have to constantly enter and exit it, for instance). I'll give it to you next time if you want, but next time be more specific--let me know.)

OOC: Oh, well if the sand is an exterior field, then he'd stay in it. It's hard to tell given I don't have a map

(OOC: It's all around him, but due to a quirk in the rules, you take damage each round on your turn and also every time you enter the field, so if you ride-by and then it comes after you, you take it twice in one round. It looks something like

<Such an absurd situation> Anton shakes his head and reaches into his cape for some arrows to fire at the cackling evil-looking Halflling. He kind of expects the wind to carry the arrows away, "Maybe getting involved is not a good idea in this situation."

*Anton and Rillian's shots all miss badly, as the whirling sands push them aside and carry them astray.*

*The man who was talking to Cade drops his spear and draws a silver dagger, charging at the flayed creature with a muffled oath, slashing it for a minor injury as he takes a more serious wound from the biting sand.*

*Thurgan charges into a flanking position with the desert man and slashes with his dwarven waraxe, biting it deeply with a powerful cut through its visible tendons. Nonetheless, Thurgan also suffers from the stinging hellsand.*

*One of the more injured desert folk who doesn't want to risk a frontal assault draws his bow and tries to shoot the creature with a silvered arrow, but his shot goes badly astray.*
