(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

*He looks somewhat askance, then shakes his head.*

"Outlanders," he laughs, then taps the top of his waterskin.

'Thanks to some of the others in your group, you have proceeded a bit unusually in this meeting. Yet if you wish to make a request of the Clan Chief, you should first each share water.'

*The man nods and waits for Cade to offer water first before taking an appreciative sip, not too short, but not too long. Afterwards, he offers Cade water from his own skin. Then he nods in Cade's direction.*

"I am Alric of the Durai Lyrane," he says simply.

Cade will explain to Alric about their quest here and what they are seeking.

OOC: Sorry, having too hard of a time remembering exactly what it was other than a sick girl's demon or something like that. It's been over a year.

*Alric seems sceptical about this story.*

"None of that makes any sense..." he ponders, glancing to the blue-eyed woman.

"It is unusual, but the prophecies have still foretold of outsiders who would breach our land if such a disaster as the Act of Treachery were ever committed..."

"Yes, I know. But though we have failed, we were tasked to protect this place. This I know"

"We were also tasked with aiding those who seek the light."

"We cannot know..."

"I know...I think the Old Ones will choose for themselves whether these are the prophecied ones. It is only ours now to guide and watch."

"And the girl? A creature so bereft of vhal or even common courtesy...what was she doing with them?"

"As well ask why they include such other creatures. Still, she did not even seem to feel the zij she incurred, and she did not ask for punishment. She is surely shameful to them. Why not ask?"

*Alric nods.*

"Tell us, why did you travel with such a vhalless wretch?"

"What you ask may be very difficult to explain. In other places, vhal and zij have different requirements, though the people there still try to be good. In some places, it is rude to thank your host for the gift of water. In some places it is rude to question someone's courtesy. My father always said that good can be found in accepting our differences."

"I do not believe that she ment any offense, and while I have tried to follow your custums to the best of my ability, I myself am not sure exactly of which you speak," Cade says. "She has been a loyal companion, and saved the lives of all of us here at least once, and I do not believe her actions were done in any intent to offend. I sent her away for her actions seemed to offend you, but I am not sure exactly what or why myself."

"Except that she watched everyone and then chose to be arrogant, disgusting, and ingrateful anyway," Alric points out, "You can't tell me you plan to continue associating with someone like that? She casts aspersions on all of your vhal."

"I was curious about her, so I spied on her surface thoughts at the end, and I can assure you that she was doing it on purpose...she also has much blood on her hands--you should not trust her," she replies to Cade.

"There are sacrifices I am willing to make at the moment to save the life of a little girl. Beyond that, we shall see," Cade says.
