"Not so bad as some, lad," Thurgan said looking back at the group of women and girls traveling with the dwarf.

Thurgan was somewhat tall for a dwarf and broad of shoulder. His dark brown hair was overly thick, including his beard. Both the beard and hair were braided to keep them from the work area. He was constantly dirty and his hands were quite calloused (though he can be surprising gentle when it is called for). He wore a chain shirt beneath his workclothes, and a pair of dwarven waraxes hung from belt.

Thurgan took a look at those around him before he proceeded any farther.

"Aye, I kin see. Come, the mayor will want ta have a word with ya." Cade says, taking stride besides the dwarf.

Cade is fairly scruffy looking. He's HUGE... for a halfling. His leather armor is well worn but maintained, and his hair is rarely all in place. His brown locks and eyes don't make him stand out much as a halfling. He's trailed by a large St. Bernard.

"Name's Cade," he says, offering a hand shake. "What kin I call ye?"

"Thurgan Hammer's me name, tha's Krug there with me," Thurgan replied, motioning to the other dwarf with him. "Mayor, ya saw, wha' fer?" Thurgan turned to the women and asked, "Gotcha here ta Briarton, lasses. Hope ya'll 'll be all right. Anythin' else I kin do fer ya, ya need escorted anywhere else?"

"Well, assumin' these are the missin' women and childrin, he'll be quite thankfull I'm sure," Cade says. "And I think a representitive of the duke is here."

"Don' be bashful, now," Thurgan chided. "Went ta some effor' ta git ya free an all. I won't be doin' a job half-way. Never have. What kin a do fer ya?"

Thurgan regarded the woman . . . it seemed to be a matter of professional pride with the dwarf.

"Whatcha talkin' abou', there Cade, is it?" Thurgan asked.

"They're jes unsure," Mildred says to Thurgan, "Many of them didn't live here, but seein as how their homes are gone now, this is probably the best place for them...it's jes hard ta accept, ye know?"
