Adventure: Into the Wild

[sblock=chatting] No pain at all. :) But we need four successes, not two. Mal also said improvise. I'm new to PBP, but it seems most DMs like people to come up with their own solutions. Heck, MetaVoid talked us out of a fight (nice job again Meta, btw). If Mal doesn't like what I did, he'll smite me down or we get in a fight. No worries. Besides I didn't threaten the guards, just tried to make them uncomfortable. [/sblock]

Thanks for kind words.

I agree with Neurotic on this one. We need four successes total, but two of those need to be bluff.

Mal?

OOC: Woah.

1st check: Rocco, aid with perception, failed
2nd check: Dante with Stealth, success
3rd check: Nementah with Nature, success

At this point, 2 success, 0 failures.

Then Rocco rolls again an aid but specify (as he should) that it's for round 2, aid another, bluff, successful

At this point there is no aid another bonus in the bank for the two remaining check for the round from Ibram and Renquist since the only successful aid was done early.

4th check: Ibram, rolls a 3 with a +18. Bluff. Normally he rolls +11, I have to wonder where the extra +7 comes from?! I am thinking that you are thinking : Word of Friendship + Aid another. If that's the case, Words of friendship works only on diplomacy and as I pointed out above, Rocco's aid was for next round. Which would mean you rolled a 14 and failed. Unless you can point out to me a bonus I might have missed.

5th Check: Renquist with intimidate. I did say 2 bluffs. Intimidate certainly could have been one of the 2 non bluff success required ('Good cop, Bad Cop' routine) and is what I meant by 'improvise'. I rather like it in fact. But the two 'slots' had been filled by Dante's stealth check and Nementah's Nature check. Also good calls, imo. At this point, the guards think you are credible as mercenaries. They still need to be convinced you mean no harm so they need to be bluffed.

So I'll rerout that intimidate as an Aid for bluff. It's acceptable as such (again, the cops routine).

Tally; 2 successes, 1 failures (Or 3 successes 0 failures if it turns our I forgot a bonus for Ibram).

Round 2:

Rocco acted, everyone else is up, +4 aid bonus in the bank.

The guards eyes the party respectfully. They are certainly convinced they are dealing with seasoned mercenaries. But do these mercenaries have an hostile agenda?

[sblock=OOC]Dante's more likely to hinder than help if he tries to assist, so I'll leave these two checks to you guys.[/sblock]

Let's wait for ibram's bluff so we know where we stand (with +4 he should succeed without problem) - or he can risk NOT using it counting that second roll won't be as low (he needs 5 with +11 bluff) leaving the bonus for second check.

In my opinion, he should use it so we have one sure success and we need one other with three potential aids. Since we fail on one check, all should aid and only highest should roll, don't you agree?

Who has good bluff? FourMonos?
Nementah bluff = +0

Rocco is at +0 too.- he already aided so doesn't affect this round.

I'd say, Ibram uses one aid from last round (intimidate) to get +13 and hope he doesn't get 1 or 2.

Then you two aid the paladin in bluffing (assumin one succeed and one fail (50% chance) he'll get +1 from you two and +2 from Rocco)

EDIT: BLAH!! MetaVoid, you have that spirit power "spirit talker/walker/something?" that gives you +4. I'm guessing that's as high as we'll get for secondary, let IronSky and FourMonos aid you, use the skill with aids (hopefuly +6, but at least +3) and we may make it

[sblock=ooc] I'm +2 bluff, but happy to assist if Meta's Spirit power is better. btw, I see my error now, I thought Namentah's nature check was an aid roll, so I thought we needed another non-bluff success. my bad! [/sblock]

Yes, it is better, I get +4 as Neurotic said. Now, only to hear from modest again to see what bonuses he spends

[sblock=Neurotic]
You enjoy tormentig us with math? How much time do you spend accounting for every roll? :p
