OOC: Likewise. I really hope they come back though. BB's character has to be my favorite. I mean, if Fenwick is gone, who will be our negotiator???

OOC: I'm here. I've been having some tendonitis problems, so have been minimizing my keyboard use. I will try to post something this weekend.

[sblock=ooc]Hey all, I'm finally back. I skimmed everything and it looks like WD and Tenchuu are doing great - I don't really have anything to add at this time, other than I fear this may end up a jumping puzzle, what with the moving pieces and all. :) Good to know the levers do nothing - great job![/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Do nothing? Maybe they activate the pushing wall!
You could at least give an answer to Riardon's pondering. You know, eladrin can get quite old ;)[/sblock]

OOC: I'm still waiting on [MENTION=1642]BenBrown[/MENTION]: If I don't here from him by tonight, I'll continue, and hope he chimes in as we go. I'm afraid I'll have to ask if one or two of you can NPC Rujah (and perhaps Fenwick) if this carries on too long.

Fenwick pauses, as if musing on the situation.
"Levers look like something to do with spikes, but If we not play with levers, then should Fenwick jump across?" he asks.

Rolls: (forgot to add level bonus in on roller. have recalculated below)
History: 1d20+1=21
Thievery: 1d20+2=19
Perception: 1d20+2=13
Nature: 1d20+2=5 so much for the vaunted barbarian wilderness experience.[/sblock]

OOC: whoops. looks like you NPCed my rolls while I was rolling. Sorry, I've really been trying to be sparing in my keyboard use and rest for the whole weekend.

[sblock=Ben]No Problem. Take care of your hands. They're the tools of your trade. Hope my rolling for you was not too rash of a move.[/sblock][sblock=Summary]Gensai figured out the inscription by shear mental force. His mumblings sparked Riardon's memory of a cipher he learned in school as a boy, and soon the answer was elementary.

Riardon sees footprints on the floor of the pit that seem to step through the spikes.

He and Gensai both sense that magic is responsible for moving some heavy object within the trap, but they are not sure as to which object it is. The obvious candidate is the large, stone wall, but that is only conjecture.

This makes sense to Fenwick as he studies the pit floor further and realizes that the spikes are designed to retract into the floor of the pit, but is unsure as to whether the levers retract the spikes or spring the trap, causing the wall to start moving.

Gensai sits on the code-bearing stone (the only action posted as of yet).[/sblock]
OOC: What I need now are specific actions. How do you intend to defeat, circumvent, or suffer through this obstacle.

For the sake of Ben's hands, I will allow him to opt out of posting an action if he wishes to do so.
