[sblock=OOC]HMG, per my last rounds actions, Dayna should be at E9 and Talon at E10 on your map. They got the extra shifting in the standard action before the attack. So shouldn't Dayna get to make an OA at the retreating Ambusher? If so, here it is: Dayna OA at Ambusher for moving vs AC21 (1d20+7=12, 1d8+2=10) A miss anyway, so no change other than that it maybe happened.[/sblock]Talon and Dayna move forward in pursuit of the ambushers. Attacking as one, Dayna bites at the nearest man and misses. Talon stabs out over her with Stormshard and has more luck. Stabbing deeply into his prey, Talon then twists the handle on the spear causing it to spring forward and shoot out a ball of lightning that pushes the man back a few steps until it explodes, sending arcs to the two allies next to him.

The thugs barely dodge Dayna's claws as they retreat to the cellar door, but their ire is sparked by Talon's pursuit. Recovering from the explosion of ball lightning from Talon's spear, tne thug moves forward and delivers a sideways blow to the shifter's head. Then he moves out of the way for his, who is not as fortunate. His companion's attempt to waylay the wolf only seems to make the creature mad.

The archers step back to put distance between themselves and their prey. Back to back, they fire at their quarries in opposite directions, and even as their shafts find their marks, they nock their next arrows.

"So you wanna dance, dragon boy!" The knife fighter, deft as can be, slices into Firebyrne and slips back toward Rujah, "Another one! No matter. You all bleed." Knifing the warden, he disappears behind the wine racks.

Firebyrne pursues the knife fighter, but becomes distracted as he happens upon the bundle of archers. Thinking quickly, the knifes the archer directly in front of him, and slips around to the other side hoping to distract him from Rujah, who is waiting his turn.

Rujah takes the signal, "Si kampiun Ixenvalignat!" The warden moves ahead and bashes the archer's thigh with his hammer, causing the man to limp horribly. Grabing the knife wound with one hand and leaning on his bow for support the battered archer cries for help from his companion, "Heral! They're closing!"

As the archers mark their targets, Fenwick sees an opening. "Now archer feel wrath of Fenwick, who is very wrathful!" he yells, as he rushes between the rows of wine bottles to strike at the archer standing in front of Firebyrne, unfortunately missing.

ooc: HMG, you removed the healing surges, but I think the HP should be higher for Riardon and Fenwick.

Riardon was 21, then spent 2 x 11 (HS) = 43
Fenwick was 20, plus 9 HS +9 extra healing from Inspiring Word = back to full (37)

Riardon advances a bit. "Fenwick, finish the wounded archer!"

[sblock=OOC]My apologies! I intended to restore the lost hp when I took the HS's out. I got distracted and forgot. Sorry. Retconned.[/sblock]

Fenwick takes the tip from Riardon, pivots on this right foot in a hurried pirouette, and swings his axe, broad side, right into the chest-wound made by Firebyrne. The archer howls in pain.

[sblock=Action]Standard: Melee Basic
Attack: 1d20+8 = 21 vs. AC for 1d10+5 = 9 damage

Not quite "finished," but close.

Sorry. Got confused here. I rolled for Rujah, then realized that Riardon meant Fenwick. Instead of re-rolling a the hit (He still hits without the flanking bonus), I just re-rolled damage (1d12+5 instead of 1d10+5).[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC/DM]Weighing my options here guys. I might encounter acid ranged attack (-2 for cover though) to try and finish the archer. Man, I wish I had their to-hit bonuses. :P

DM, what is the smoky over on H2 to L6?

[sblock=Smoky]The smoky area is Rujah's Winter's Herald area of effect. Until the end of of the encounter, it's a 2 square burst zone centered on Rujah. Squares within the zone are difficult terrain to enemies.[/sblock]
