Sheng's ball of flame barely phases the lead dragon.
As the party retreats to within the walls of the tower, the dragons approach as if on the wings of a violent storm. The beating of their winds and the crashing of the waves rise to a deafening torrent. Above them, the party hears one of the wyrms light on the roof.
The sound of snapping metal and braeking glass shatters the air, and the beacon's beam goes suddenly dark.
Behind them, to the West, through the chinks in the tower's walls, the group catches the scintillating reflection of green scales that blot out even the largest of openings in the crumbling walls, until finally a gnarled and scaly, green head pokes thorugh cracking in a fanged grin. Green smoke tendrils issue from the dragon's nostrils.
To the east, a third dragon darkens the doorway.
Despite their bravery, the group is overcome by the raw power exhibited by these beasts. Only Gensai remains undaunted, ready to face death in the protection of his charges
The dragon at the gap in the western wall seems to understand this, and stares the ronin down. Cautiously, Gensai withdraws to a far corner.
The dragon in the doorway is one that Riardon, Fenwick, and Gensai all recognize. This is Iguyo Di Wer Grovisv. The Goddess of the Forest.
"I thought we had a bargain germs!" She sneers at the group,
"But now you go lighting lights and finding friends!" She points her muzzle at Sheng, Hankel, and Phoenix,
"And what of our agreement to strike down Wer Vhisar!? Does he yet live? Somehow I doubt you had the stomach to carry that out." She looks around the inner chamber and her eyes fall once more on the dwarf,
"And what's this!? You bring a dwarf with you! This will not do! We'll take care of this one!"
Hankel reaches for his axe, but he is too slow. Mesmerized by her stare, Hankel drops the axe to the floor and walks over to the dragon. Though the doorway makes the action awkward, Iguyo Di Wer Grovisv manages to get a claw around the dwarf, scuring him closely to herself.
"You, however, will not be so lucky."
As if to emphasize her threat, the dragon at the western wall breathes a cloud of noxious gas into the room. Fenwick, Phoenix, and Riardon take the brunt of the cloud full in the face and begin to gag uncontrollably.
