[Adventure]: Land Ho! FWBTHW (DM:H.M.Gimlord,Judge:Ozymandias79)

Sheng says nothing, he eyes the newcomer and considers the fact that their boat has been stolen. "Riardon, care for Hankel's wound." he says, pointing at the dwarf with the new dagger. "Remember you are the heir of this kingdom Hankel, begin acting like the king you are supposed to be. It is a great honour to lead, but it must be done with grace and intelligence." He gives a step ahead "You, you must have gotten here in some sort of transport, or through a portal." he says to Phoenix "We are in need of that."

OOC: Shall we level up now, or later? This will be my first paragon living character :)
Non-neck item is the natural 20 reward? Riardon also still lacks a theme...

OOC: Gensai has no theme. I don't mind adding one when we level, if the GM approves and we all pick one.

"Do we even need the boat," Gensai asked, "We have lit the beacon. We have summoned the Remnant of Rioc Parvel. They shall arrive in boats, no? Unless this one is the Remnant."

Realizing his rudeness to the woman, Gensai bowed. "My apologies. I am Ashikaga Gensai, retainer to the others."

GM: Themes were made legal for L4W, so who am I to stand in the way ;). I'm curious to see what you do with 7 months of XP. I'm sorry I dragged my feet for so long.

Keep in mind, "With great power come even greater monsters"

Walking Dad, the non-neck item is your part of the treasure parcel. The enhancement to your Amulet of Life was your Nat20 reward.

"Phoenix" The woman says with a curt nod.

She turns to Sheng.

"I arrived with this," she says, holding up her hand to reveal a green ring. "The minotaur I was fighting wore it, then used it to swap places with some fool. If you use the ring, it switches itself and its wearer with the other ring that is its twin. I suppose we could use it to get back to the Hanged Man, just have some one put it on then take it off, the next person puts on the ring that comes back, puts it on, then repeat until everyone is back in Daunton..."

OOC: Dear DM, I'm a bit dense in regard of the treasure parcel system. Can you take a look at the Riardon sheet and tell me which item level is available, please? Please note that I wasn't able to sell an old armor and neck item yet.

Thanks!

"What a curious artefact, I wonder who could be so fool as to make such a ring. But it matters not; it will serve our goals." the monk says with his usual dry monotone. Quickly, he adds, amidst a short bow "My name is Sheng Zim. I found these honourable warriors while they were seeking to end the existence of a dragon. We've lost two of our able fighters, perhaps you are interested in the honour, glory and treasure awaiting those who send this creature to the underworld?" Sheng makes a pause, gauging Phoenix's reaction. "Your current prey is beyond your reach now, but perhaps your paths will cross again in the future; but in the meantime you might find a powerful item in the stash of the wyrm that could make the difference in your destined encounter with the cowman."

GM: For Riardon, any item of level 13 or lower would certainly be in bounds.

I have to admit, I'm not exactly using a strict parcel system because the PC's wishlists and the remote location of the story somewhat limit my choices, but the general rule of thumb is that magic items that are at PC Level (at the time of acquisitioin) +4 or lower are considered appropriate (especially when Time Gold is the only monetary reward, as it was in this case).

As for the Amulet of Life +2, the one that the skelleton captain gave you is more powerful than your current neck item. Theoretically, Riardon could put his existing amulet in the chest with the jewels for safe keeping until he can sell it (or simply pocket it).

Phoenix looks about her surroundings, frustration clear on her face. She unleashes a blast of fire on a nearby inoffensive pile of rubble, then turns back to Sheng.

"Perhaps it is best anyway - unleashing everything I had on him barely singed him. It was probably a foolhardy thing to pursue him here alone, but I'd have been damned to let him get away again. How about we make a deal; I'll aid you with your venture if you stand by me against Rhagast the Butcher if we run into him again. What say you?"
