Adventure: Lord Byron's Lost Silver (DM: Tenchuu, Judge: H.M.Gimlord)

OOC: I have lost no ressources whatsoever so of course I am for pressing on except for the fact I realized I am getting pretty rich and should spend it... But then again I guess I can put it aside and buy a top notch armor or crossbow when it is over.

PS: My wiki is at long last presentable.

As the adventurers passed through the planar portal, they felt as if they were pulled through the dimensional rift, guts first. Luckily, the nauseating experience ended almost as soon as it began; they staggered out the other side, the force of the magic pushing them a bit. They stood then in a strange world, with an orange colored sky and a blue sun. The air smelled sour of sulphur and dust.

Ahead, there is a small patch of travelable terrain, surrounded by steep dark walls of lava stone scree and an almost bottomless cliff/trench. Huge piles of stone and rock lie just beyond the portal here, and there are several wheel barrows here as well (not pictured). Wheel barrow tracks go from the portal to the edge of the cliff.

Their view ahead is dominated by a large statue of a winged demon, whose stoney gaze was haunting. Behind the statue loomed large gates, closed. On the ground behind the statue, there was the remains of some kind of humanoid, with an axe stuck between two ribs about where the heart was. It seemed surprisingly well preserved for the age reported by the ghost, if it was the half-demon general. In front of the statue laid the bodies of fallen adventurers who came before, seeking treasure and fame, but finding only isolated death.
[sblock=Trained Arcana DC 12]The statue is magic, and it reacts to any creature's approach. Stealth may be used. It can be destroyed.
[/sblock][sblock=Trained Arcana DC 17]Another Creature sees through the statue's eyes. Attacking it will alert the other creature.

[sblock=Adventure Summary]
Motives
Kruk: Find his friend Greggor
Charina: Use the group to collect more bounties (ears)
Everyone Else: Locating the missing Silver shipment for Lord Byron

Summary of Events
1. Bested Pirates en route to Allaria. Traveled on the ship Wind's Will captained by Captain Levenbrech, and mated by Porse and Trig.
2. Arrived in the port, to find it besieged by Lizards from the unending mire. Defeated lizards and met/teamed up with Charina.
3. Journeyed to Geardagas and asked the locals for information with mixed results (link to the leads gathered).
4. Went to the temple of Netari, where the new priest, Father Niris, has been tending to the ill (apparently quite poorly). He led the players into the catacombs, where his zombie minions ambushed. The priest, over confident, rambled on about Hellview (background reference for players).
5. Dealing a mortal blow to the Priest, he says Master De Luccia (First time they have heard the name) cannot be stopped, and he stated that Greggor "will be... among the first... at Hellview." The priest laid dying on the floor with his fallen minions.
6. As they approach Hellview, they encounter the ghost of Sir Alistair Glasston, who begged them to enter the cave and retrieve his lost battleaxe.
7. They entered Hellview, and came across a portal, as well as some guards/workers. It seems they were using zombies to dig a new path near the portal... but where?

Before any of his comrades more forward, Wil holds up a hand. Stop, that statute is aware. It will attack any who approach and alert its master. I believe Charina or Carolina can sneak past it at first. Then Kane, Hergunna and I might be able to. Then he looks doubtfully at Kruk.

Carolina moves quietly toward the statue.
[sblock=Actions]
Stealth: 1d20+13=33

If nothing happens after the first move, she'll use a double move to go farther. You can pick the squares.

Also, I'm not sure where she stands on HP and healing surges, but she'll have spent whatever is necessary in order to get fixed up before now.

As she moves forward toward the statue, an item on the knight catches here eye; an amulet of some kind--perhaps quite valuable. So far, the statue took no action or gave no sign. The area around seemed calm.

[sblock=ooc]I assume you are moving straight ahead. But, where would you like to go ultimately?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]She'll move around the back of the statue to check out the body there (J15). If she can snag the amulet as a minor action, she will... otherwise she'll ignore it for now and come back for it later if no one else picks it up first.[/sblock]

Kruk looks at Will What...I can move as quiet as a mouse...you'll see...hmmmf He takes a step and his platemail armor makes a large clanking noise. Kruk breaths a hissing noise by sucking air through his teeth, and then stops. Well...maybe not. I'll wait for the others to go first.

Carolina sneaks past the fallen knight, grabbing the amulet as she did.

As she approached the larger northern body, she found it was indeed a demon, or half demon, of some kind. It lay face down on the ground, propped up somewhat by a large axe that stuck into the chest. If this was the demon in question, it was amazingly well preserved.

[sblock=ooc]Enjoy your treasure: L9 Amulet of False Life.

Perhaps the other body has loot as well?[/sblock]

Carolina motions to the other that this is, in fact, the axe they were looking for. She refrains from touching it for the moment, not trusting in demons, dead or alive.
