"What makes you say that Zaeryl?" Juliana asks, raising a quizical eye "You think tis is one of Longtooth's minions?"

"We do. We know that one of them died and also that the leader came back to save the third, showing a sign of commitment between the pack members. Furthermore, it seems rather unusual to bury a simple animal, though perhaps a child might do so so for a pet near their home, it would not be common at a random camp for such a thing, whereas a furry humanoid is more likely to bury it's comrade. Besides, the wererats wished to prevent us from coming to find the truth. Since we seem to be on the right track, it only makes sense that we may be nearing their turf. We could expect an ambush, perhaps, though they will be child's play during the day, so perhaps not."

Ogrin sees nothing until Juliana points it out. He responds to her and Zaeryl: "Let's just not annoy the wildlife, Okay? That is probably someones - or somethings - food supply."

Ogrin refills his water bottle upstream from the carcass to avoid drinking foul water¹. He then rejoins the others.

OOC: Real life story: Some friends couldn't understand why their dog wouldn't drink water from the stream when they were out walking in the mountains... half a mile upstream they found out why - There was a half-rotten carcass of a dead reindeer in the stream. The dog drank happily further upstream, and they got violently ill later that evening.

"I don't know what would burry it's food. You have a point Zaeryl, but I'm not sure that hole is big enough to bury a human sized body. We should be cautious though."

All this talk of dead things being buried around the apple tree makes Razh lose his appetite. He takes one more look of longing at the apple before he carelessly tosses it over his shoulder. Not one to sit around and do nothing, Razh begins poking around at the edges of the clearing, looking for... anything, a trail, discarded objects, anything. He also keeps an eye out for intruders.

Juliana walks closer to the half-buried fur. It does in fact resemble the fur of the wererats. That clawed hand, sticking up, could it be from stinker?

Her attention is diverted, though, by movement above her. She looks up. There appears to be nothing in the branches of the thin tree, but something moved. And was that a hiss?

Almayce fails to notice anything, until Juliana announces that something is buried close. Hearing Juliana issuing a warning, Almayce takes a few steps backwards, glancing towards the tree. Suppressing the urge to start a debate about what actually counts as "natural", he simply asks: "What do you mean?"
