Adventure:-- LPNN (Manzanita Judging)

"Just because your mind rape drug works on men too that makes it ok?" Juliana glares at Kopasker "There's a woman dead and right now everything points to you."

OOC: If you couldn't tell, this love potion thing realy bothers Juliana.

"I just did what Tryggvi told me to do! You don't want to mess with the conclave! I'm simply an alchemist. Tryggvi makes me sell poison to this man. Then armed people come to my door. So I try to flee. I'm just trying to run a business!"

Kopasker scowls at the weeping Tryggvi.

Ogrin will search Tryggvi's person for valuables and sharp object and remove them ("for safekeeping"). Unless anyone else does, he'll do the same thing with Kopasker after tying him up as well, in particular relieving the alchemist of any spell components.

After listening to Kopaskers accusation of Tryggvi, Ogrin asks a few questions: "What kind of poison was it? How does it kill? Did you know who the intended recipient was?"

It may occur to the others in the party that Ogrins interest in the poison is not wholly theoretical... he's an "eye for an eye" kind of guy.

OOC:
While Ogrin might not be the right person for the job, this would make an interesting courtroom session :-)

Almayce glances around, not really sure what to do with the annoying, whining bastards. "Is anybody actually wounded? Excluding those two, I mean.", he asks. He tries to find the Kopasker spellbook, if he has one.

Finally, he asks Tryggvi a question: "So, what happened to your furry friends? They seemed quite dead. Not that I'm overly botherded by the fact, mind you, but I'd like to know why. And didn't you mention "The Conclave" earlier too, when you were telling us we'd be sorry for taking this job?"

OOC:
From post 10: "Your PC's associate The Conclave with old tales of organized crime. It's an intimidating name, but most people don't think it much of a real power, more of a myth. Much like modern people might think of 'The Mob', but even more distant in time."

Ogrin's search turns up the following:
On Tryggvi: MW studded leather, MW rapier, MW hand crossbow, 2 potions, 2 fials alchemist fire, 1 tanglefoot bag.

On Kopasker: longspear, mace.

A search of the house reveals a simple, sparse living quarters and a well-stocked alchemist lab. Some of the components might be quite valuable, but its hard to tell. There's also some cash, about 100 gps worth. Almayce finally finds a spell book. It has all the zero level spells and the following 1st level spells: protection from evil, mage armor, color spray, magic weapon, chill touch, burning hands.

Kopasker cocks his head at Ogrin's question about poison. "I don't ask questions. The concave is a dangerous organization and I know Tryggvi works for them. He told me to give Krafia poison, so I did. That kind kills when drunk. I'm very good at making poisons. Perhaps you're interested. Leave me and my house. Return my spellbook. I'm in enough trouble as it is now with the conclave. I'll make you some poison and a love potion for this girl's boyfriend if you want. Then let me go. I'm going to have to leave this area."

Almayce holds on to the spellbook and ignores Kopasker's rantings for now. He spends couple of minutes trying to identify the potions they found. He probably manages to figure out what the other potion is (Spellcraft results 22 and 34).

"So, what do we do with them? I suppose we're not letting them go.", he asks the others, sounding like he couldn't really care less.

Almayce takes a quick look at the alchemical stuff, to see if he can find the most expensive stuff.

OOC:
Right, a 2nd level character just got a 34 on a skill check. :D

"I have a better idea: We put a noose around your necks and string you up on a branch 'till you stop struggling. Then we let you hang until the birds come to peck your eyes out.

You are an accomplice in this, Kopasker. In this crime, Tryggvi is the heart, you the brain and Sindri the hand; a fool of a hand no doubt, but still innocent of murder. Only the gods know how many other innocent people your poisons have killed."

Ogrin turns to Tryggvi. "But what I can't understand is how you, Tryggvi, who claim you love Hallidora, would kill her. Was it spite? Was it jealousy? Or are you just so self-absorbed that you treat everyone like objects, for you to use and break at your whim?"

OOC:
I've noted the objects in the "party loot" but I can safely say that Ogrin is NOT carrying the items. :-)

"You're wasting your breath.", Almayce says to Ogrin. "They've had enough time to plan and commit a murder and frame another person. That means they've had plenty of time to think the whole thing through. Trying to undestand them, or point out the obvious flaws in their reasoning is a waste of time."

"They're both guilty of murder and more, the only problem is whether we kill them now or trust the authorities to execute them. Sindri is mostly only guilty of being an idiot, which unfortunately isn't a crime in itself."

"On the other hand, I'd like to know more about this Conclave. Because if they're involved in this, we're not done yet."

"Hey, don't lump all the members of this criminal organisation in with this lout," Ogrin responds, "I'm sure they have better things on their minds than intervening in one of their thugs' love problems. Most of them are probably decent beings, as far as thieves and extortionists go, at least...

"If they exist at all, which I severly doubt. I suspect it's a mantra, something unverifiable used to grant you protection or status; or something criminals use to scare their kids. 'Eat your dinner,or the conclave'll get ya!', that sort of thing.

"Were I the member of a secret organization, I wouldn't flout it at the earliest convenience. Oh and the skull tattooed on the inside of my upper arm is a birth mark. No, honestly!"

Growing more serious, Ogrin continues: "You know my vote on dispensing justice already. But Hallidor may end up in trouble since it's known he headed up to Kopasker. If the alchemists turns up dead, he might have some difficult questions to answer."
