Charlarn replies, "Do you have any idea who these 'new players' might be? Could they be behind the goblin attacks? As far as your offer, could you increase you increase it to perhaps 30 gp per thief? Afterall, running afoul of the guild sounds dangerous."
He turns to the others, "Does this sound good?"

Kim frowns. "I don't know a lot about the battle for control of the thieves guild. I have heard of someone named 'Thorn' who leads a faction to destroy or control the guild. I repeat, that I believe the guild is good for the city. It regulates its members well, and keeps an order to the chaos, as it were. As for theives in my warehouse, 30 gps apiece would still be well worth it to me."

"Agreed", says Nurlan. "What about the rest of you?"

Assuming that everybody else takes up the offer, he continues: "As I said, I am a singer. If I am going to be staying in this city a little while, I will want to find somewhere I can perform. Do you have any suggestions?"

Kim Tensil

"Oh, there are many taverns you could try. There's always musicians around there. There's also a large public square near the docks. Meanwhile, please have a look around the warehouse. My assistant, Botha here, will bring your cots to wherever you wish to sleep.

Warehouse graphic attached. 1 square = 5 feet. There is a scafold around the sides, 30 feet high, and 5 foot wide. The boxes are stacks of crates. The little boxes are windows. The two entrances are down the stairs, and down a ramp.

Charlarn asks, "Excuse me. What is the rope slide? As far as where I will sleep. I think under the NW window, north of the 15'-high stack."

When the next opportunity arises, Charlarn will change his spells to:
0–light, virtue (2);
1–bless, magic weapon, sanctuary*
*Domain spell

Right now he has memorized:
0–create water, mending, purify food and drink;
1–sanctuary*
*Domain spell

"I'd like to sleep behind those stack of boxes facing the ramp, if that's possible."

[OoC: No change in spells memorized, so:
Spells Prepared:
0 (3+1): Detect Magic, Mage Hand, Prestidigitation, Ghost Sound
1 (2+1): Sleep, Mage Armor, Color Spray]

"Then I shall sleep between the stacks in the middle of the room and the rope slide", says Nurlan, seeing the two most secure spots already claimed. At least this protects him from someone coming up the stairs, although not the ramp.

OOC: which side of the stairs and of the ramp is the top?

The stairs and ramp go up. The rope slide is for assisting the movement of heavy crates, barrels and boxes.

The night passes uneventfully. Everyone gets a good nights sleep and feels ready for action. Jezibel has joined the group for the night, sprawling out near, but not too near, Nurlan.

"I hopes you don't mind me bein' here. I could really use a gold piece or two. I'll leave when yous do."

Morning comes, bright and clear. There is no sign of Kim Tensil, but his assistant Botha reservedly hands each of you a shiny gold piece and ushers you out into the street.

"I can show yous around a bit, if'n you like." says Jezibel. "I know a great place for breakin' the fast, if'n yous got the cash." She flips her coin in the air and catches it deftly. "Called the One Eyed Owl. Or perhaps you want to go to the militia house first. I could show you there, but I ain't goin' inside. They's a bad lot, if yous ask me."

OK, let me rephrase the question, since it doesn't seem to have been clear.

If someone enters the warehouse either on the stairs or on the ramp, are they facing the middle of the warehouse or are they facing the opposite direction?

"Sounds good", Nurlan says. "You all up for breakfast?"

"Later". Nurlan suppresses a chuckle. As if yesterday's experience at the gate had left any doubt...
