(Adventure) M1: Goblin Ears and the MTG (dpdx judging) COMPLETED

The girl glances around, seeming to appreciate Irene's support. "Jezibel. I'm going to the city." she says, when Nurlan asks her name and family.

Flavius seems pretty pumped up about killing that goblin. He also seems to have a hard time taking his eyes of Jezibel. "Did you seem me skewer that little one? Takes a lot of control on a horse to hold a longspear steady while you're charging. You've got to learn that kind of thing as a caravan guard, you know. You meet a lot of worse things than goblins.....uh, me, question the hobgoblin?" He glances at the fierce-looking bound creatures. "Well. I'm a caravan guard. I'm not going goblin hunting. Those guys are vicious. I'd rather they didn't see my face, actually. Listen, I live pretty close to here. I might go visit my family before I go into the city to catch up with Mr. Trent. I've already lost the caravan and he'll dock my pay a bit anyway. Any of you want to come back home with me?" He says this to the group, but he's only looking at Jezibel.

"Are you sure you want to split up Flavius? Alone you'd be pretty vulnerable to an assault of those goblins." Irene looks at the mounted guard, shakes her head, and walks over to the bound hobgoblins. She draws out her dagger, and halts just in front of the two. "I can use this dagger in two ways," She starts, looking at the creatures with a vicious look in her eyes. "And you can decide which way it will be. If you help us, and tell us what we want to hear, this dagger might mean your escape. If you don't help us, we'll collect our bounty anyway, and I'll summon some kind of wild animal to feast on your bodies. So which one will it be?"

Irene keeps the dagger just a bit above the ear of one of the goblins, and makes a small cut to show she's real about what she said.

[OoC: Bluff +4's probably appropriate]

Nurlan says, "Well, we're due 120 crowns for three goblins and three hobgoblins. You're a part of the group; your share will be 24 crowns. I should think that would more than make up for any lost pay from the caravan."

Tenebrynn joins Nurlan and the others, having collected his grim treasure. He stands around listening to Flavius and Jezibel, picking up their names in the conversation. He prefers to keep quiet though as sometimes he is a little uncomfortable among people he has just met. He still can't believe that he had finally worked himself up to that introduction at the Red Dragon. It had taken years to get the courage up to speak to strangers there.

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 1

After a thoughtful silence, Charlarn says, "I think we should go with Flavius and Jezibel to the city. That way neither group is left to fend for themselves. Also, I think we should find out more information about the goblin raids from the people in charge."

OOC: Sorry about not posting. I had computer problems.

"Naturally, we need to go there anyway -- I assume that's where the Office of the Treasury is located", Nurlan replies. "But first let's see whether Irene is getting any useful information out of the sleepyheads." He walks over to join Irene by the hobgoblin prisoners.

To Monemvassia

"I'm not going to the city" says Flavius. "I'm not afraid of traveling home alone. I am armed & mounted, and things are not as dangerous as you might think. There are soldiers patrolling, and goblin attacks are not so common, at least they weren't when I left. I'll gladly take two ears, and cash them in when I get to town. Nice to meet you folks. If you come back this way, drop by the millers on Sutton creek. People can help you find it." He waves his hand north. "Just head that away. OK, though. See you later. You sure you don't want to come Jezibel?"

"No" the girl replies softly without looking up. "I'll go with these brave adventures to town."

It's easy enough to turn the wagon around & head to town.

I'll post more later. Been very busy.

Interrogation

The hobgoblin snarls, growls and pulls at his bonds, but does not speak. He gives no evidence that he can understand common, although he could be faking it. His companion does likewise.

You lead ... me money!”

[OoC: I kinda feel ignored, again =| First with the crossbowbolt with no reply, now with my attempt to question the hobgoblins... Am I doing something wrong here? Just curious...]
