[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! (Judge: EvolutionKB)

With two massive swings, Boruuk smashes the latch mechanism.

The door swings open with a creaking sound, the echoes of the axe smashes reverberating in the area.

Unlike the wet area of the sewer pool, the roughly cut tunnel leading away is bone dry.

"Nicely done Boruuk!" Knoepf says as he shakes his head in disbelief in what he just witnessed. "I didn't think it would break. Ya proved me wrong. Note to self...never bet against a goliath."

Artemus looks inside the tunnel. Seeing it is dry, he decides to walk in, but some goo stuck after his boots make him slip. He falls on his back, the shock being absorbed by slime. The putrid water splash over and some fall on his face. "Great... now I need a bath... and that water taste worst than elven ale." He says while he stands up and clean his face.

As the rusty metal door opens, a mild stench comes out of the tunnel ahead. Although it is unpleasant, only Artemus reacts violently to it, coughing and wheezing. After a few moments of this, he composes himself, his face red.

With the rough tunnel being the only way to go, the group proceeds. They do not go far when they come to their first obstacle. The tunnel ahead has caved in. This might explain why sewer workers have not used this door in many years. The rocks of the cave-in are huge in size. The group knows it cannot dig through the rocks without specialized tools and a lengthy period of time.

An opening above the cave-in shows where some room or cavern collapsed into the tunnel, but the opening is rather tight and twisty, and the group cannot see well up into the area above. It will be a tough climb due to the tightness and lack of good holds, but at least it might be easy to catch yourself if you fall.

The stench is definitely stronger at the cave-in, but the group does not see anything to indicate what it might be. The smell might be coming from up above.

Knoepf gazes upward with a worried look on his face. "Uh...I'm not a climber. I humbly request that I go last. Maybe when everyone else goes up the can hoist me up with a rope." Knoepf grins nervously waiting for others to decide what to do.

knoepf floats his lantern upward so the others could see better when they climb.

"Let's do this!" Boruuk declare, slinging his greataxe over his shoulder and is confident his time spent in the mountain would make the climb easy. Unfortunately, his large frame was far more difficult to manuever than through the wide open mountain ranges he was used to.
