[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! Part 2 (Judge: EvolutionKB)

Although the bar does not raise up, the block and tackle does pull it enough for the group to both bang the wedge into it, and to weaken it with other tools until finally it snaps. It takes about five minutes for this operation to occur, but except for a few slams of the hammer on the wedge, it doesn't make a lot of noise. The doors open up to a corridor leading straight away. At the end of the corridor is another set of double doors, but these look more elegant than protective. There is also a tunnel off to the side of the corridor with a set of stone stairs in it leading up further into the building. Both the corridor and the stairs are empty, but the group cannot see far up the stairs since the tunnel that they are in spirals up.

"Alright people, let's keep moving, and try to make as little sound as possible", whispers Garrick as he moves as quietly as he's able.

"Ah," Acre whispers. "That reminds me of something a maid said to me in a bar-room closet once... Anna. Mmmm. Or was it Ariel? Ariel I think."

Acre tries to remain quiet, but silence is not something he has much of a talent for. (Stealth 16).
 

Knoepf chuckles at Acre's last remark. A little humor before battle always calms the sole. Let us go then. Knoepf produces a floating lantern, whispers a command and floats it down the hallway, illuminating it so that they can see more clearly.
 



Malehan listens carefully, but doesn't hear anything. He is fairly confident that the room on the other side of the doors is empty of living creatures.
