[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! Part 2 (Judge: EvolutionKB)

[sblock=Everyone]
PS. The rest of the team can talk to the Goblin (or to whomever they want in any conversation, Merrick was a special exception).

Just because one player rolls Diplomacy doesn't mean that the rest of the team has to keep quiet. Speak up!

[SBLOCK=OOC]Malehan is an elf of action, not word. For now, he doesn't feel he should speak, and I have no idea what to ask. I would rather sneak inside, but I doubt the group is as good as Malehan to sneak inside.[/SBLOCK]

The Goblin still looks confused. "Tunnel? I don't know nuthing about no tunnel. It's just a big hole. And a deep one too."

For those who are not familiar with and did not read the earlier adventure, it sounds likely that the hole that the Goblin is describing is the one that the earlier group of PCs fell into when they were deposited into the sewer system in their fight with Ladoran.

Ah...I see...thanks. A couple more questions and we're done. I'm sure that lots of wood and stone are needed to make this floor. Probably doesn't have it all go through the front door. How do you get the stuff into the house?

Vex wasn't really inclined to deal with the goblin- she knew the only proper way to handle vermin like that wouldn't actually help them get anywhere. Instead she focused her attention outward, scanning the area for anyone who might be watching the exchange... Between her Deneith training, and the sense of heightened awareness that came from being in hostile territory, she didn't miss much.

[sblock= OOC] Vex is not really suited towards peaceful dealings with a goblin- maybe if we were trying to threaten the little creep... She will keep a watch on the area, looking for anyone who might be watching (or anything else unusual- like that pesky warforged, for instance). Perception 1d20+9= 29 (Just wasted a crit, I guess); roll Roll Lookup [/sblock]

"Yeah, it goes through the front door. The hole's right there on the other side of it." the Goblin responds.

Vex looks around, but the roadway where the group is talking to the Goblin is deserted. It seems like the mood of the storm above has affected everyone, even if they are not directly caught in it. In fact, it's a bit odd that nobody is around. Vex feels a shiver go down her spine. It's as if the whole world is holding its breath.

Vex took another slow look around the area. Then she blew out a puff of breath, trying to attract a momentary glance from Malehan and Garrick- she left Acre and Knoepf to their goblin- interrogation.

If either of her compatriots spared her a glance, she raised her hand to the hilt of her greatsword- her other hand came up, pointed two fingers at her own eyes and then waved those fingers outward towards the deserted street. The gesture was clear- "Look sharp!" And as soon as the gesture was complete, she slid that hand back as well and began to draw her sword- only her distance, and the fact that she was facing directly AWAY from the goblin, served to indicate that she wasn't threatening the laborer. She was getting ready for trouble...

Malehan nods at Vex and then take a look at the surrounding, trying to find any observer that is spying on them and then try to find a path to sneak and start to move into the empty roadway, trying to find the best hiding place. He move toward Ladoran place, but stay within 40 feet of the group.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Perception; Stealth (1d20+19=31, 1d20+13=16) Average roll on Perception, Crappy roll on Stealth...[/SBLOCK]

The streets are all quiet and empty as Vex, Malehan, and Garrick look around. They get the impression that they are jumping at shadows. But the jittery feeling is still there, like a sound that can almost be heard. They do not detect any immediate threat, but the hairs on the back of their necks raise nonetheless. Something's not quite right. Like a storm brewing on the horizon. Even though the storm above is still occurring and can be heard and seen in the distance at the ramps leading up, it's not the weather that is bothering them. But they cannot put a name to it yet.

The Goblin seems to feel it too. "Can I have my money now? I just have enough time to go get a drink before my break's over." it asks, looking over its shoulder as if something is lurking over it.
