[Adventure] Murder Most Foul! Part 2 (Judge: EvolutionKB)

Malehan searches the room carefully. He notices two sets of locked doors. The door to the left is a single door which looks pretty normal. Push comes to shove, he thinks that if the group cannot unlock it, they can probably break it down. The double doors on the other side of the pit looks more ornate. They also looks a lot stronger with multiple iron bands running across each door. It won't be easy getting through them if the lock cannot be picked. Finally, he notices a torch holder hanging at a slight angle on the left wall. It looks like this torch holder has a strong wire running into the wall. If it is a special catch or a trap, it looks like it was already used. The rest of the torch holders appear to be solid and firmly attached to the walls.

"At last," Acre sighs when the last of the goblins leave. "I thought they'd never leave." Acre takes a quick look at the doors and the wire Malehan found.

"I defer to one of you experts on breaking and entering," he says, making a half-bow and smiling.

"What do we do now?"

Knoepf closes his eyes trying to remember more details of the first encounter with Ladoran. He remembers sitting at the table and waiting for his party waiting for Ladoran. What door did he enter from...

As his memory flashes back to the start of a series of painful events, the cleric remembers Ladoran making his initial appearance through the main set of double doors. Knoepf opens his eyes and looks towards the doors. If memory serves me correctly, I believe Ladoran came through the double doors the first time I met him.

"Ok, I'll see what I can do with that door." He then inspect the door and find a few nails and small piece of iron laying on the ground, left by the workers. He then starts to work on the lock or the larger door.

[SBLOCK=OOC]It seems Thievery can be use to Open Lock, even untrained and without thieve's tools...[/SBLOCK]

Malehan tries to unlock the door without success. It seems that the door has a very complex and security capable lock on it. He thinks that he can eventually get it, it'll just take time. Not knowing whether the servant will warn his master another way, time is something that might be in short supply.

Malehan will be able to get the lock unlocked, especially if someone else does an Aid Another. We won't waste time here on the boards making additional rolls, I'll just rule that Malehan is successful after a couple of minutes of intense work if that is what the PCs want to do.

"Well, if you want me to hurry, come here and maintain that nail in this position... I'm not a catburglar. I've open only a chest once and it wasn't that complicated." replies Malehan.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Just for the fun of it, I've roll 10 rolls: Thievery check (1d20+7=27, 1d20+7=13, 1d20+7=12, 1d20+7=19, 1d20+7=12, 1d20+7=8, 1d20+7=21, 1d20+7=23, 1d20+7=16, 1d20+7=27). My next attempt (1st roll) and the last roll are both rolls of 20... not sure how many success I need and what is the difficulty.[/SBLOCK]
