(Adventure) Pest removal at unusual height and depth

OOC: Sorry, if it wasn't clear, Jack should have moved so that he is standing two 5ft squares "east" (right) of his current position, on the other side of the rat-skeleton. The intent was to suck up the rat-skeleton's AoO, and to get into a postion where Loskrad could get a flanking bonus.

Shadowlyn will see that the creatures are now in combat with her allies, and tries to get in a shot at the creatures. She will continue to shoot at them, unless specified of different actions. +5 to hit, at the lump, since the others seem to be taking care of the rat. 1d3+1 damage. Her dog Shilo will defend her if threatened, as is his nature.

(Maybe I'm just dense, but Jack had his turn before the rat, and took it. I don't think you can delay only part of an action?)

OOC: Oop! Sorry, I was under the mistaken impression that it was the next combat turn... Never mind me, then. :o

(At least I have your action for the next round, if the rat skeleton survives that long)

Shadowlyn takes a quick step (I've assumed you would take it to avoid an AoO, if that's wrong, tell me), and lets a bullet fly at the lump. The bullet literally splashes into the thing, but nothing apparently happens.
(Shadowlyn attack roll - 19, +5 = 24. a hit, but no damage)

Reilin thinks to himself I'm pretty sure that this rat thing is undead. Maybe I should try to turn it? Looking around, he sees that none of the others are in a position to give him counsel, so he decides to do it. Hope I'm doing the right thing... "Hyrag, aid us and show your light to this abomination!", he mutters as he brandishes his holy symbol. It flares up slightly, but the rat seems unimpressed.

The lump shambles closer, with unpleasant sounds

(Know - Rlg roll 12, +4 = 16 for recognizing rat as skeleton; Turn check roll 5, +3 = 8; Max HD to turn: 0)

(No one posted, so I'll assume that you wanted to keep up the current strategies - if that was wrong, correct me)

Shadowlyn's dog jumps at the rat, attempting to bite it (attack roll 16, +2 = 18, a hit; damage roll 2, +1 = 3 damage), and cracking bones indicate that it was successful.
Jack tumbles around the rat skeleton, which snaps at him (AoO, a miss), finding himself between the lump of fungus and the rat.
The skeleton, having temporarily lost sight of the halfling, now seeks to take a bite out of the dog, but misses just as badly as before.
Mintrik, seeing that a crossbow bolt might be as harmful to his allies as to his enemies, waits for a better opening (delay to act after Loskrad)
Loskrad steps to capture the skeleton in a flanking position, and swings his sword again (roll 15, +5, +2 flanking, total 22 - a hit, with 3 damage getting through), and under the mighty strike, the skeleton finally shatters.
Mintrik decides that it would be safer to cast a spell than to shoot his crossbow, and with an arcane gesture and a chant, a freezing ray shoots from his finger (ray of frost, attack roll 11, +2 Dex, -4 melee - a hit. 3 points of cold damage, a total of 4 damage dealt to the lump).

New initiative order:
Jack - 24
Loskrad - 21
Mintrik - 20
Shadowlyn - 19
Reilin - 18
Lump - 12
Guard dog - 6

Shadowlyn is up.

Shadowlyn shoots another bullet (attack roll 5, +5 bonus, -4 into melee - a miss), but it flies against the wall and bounces out of sight.

Reilin moves up to the group, and says a short prayer, his holy symbol glowing with a warm light (cast bless - +1 to attack rolls and saves vs fear for 1 minute).

The fungus lump slashes at Jack with two clawlike extremities, and scratches him with one of them (1 point of damage), and then he feels a poison running through his blood stream, weakening him (1 point of Str damage).

Jack, in retaliation, slashes at the lump with his short sword (attack roll 13, +6 bonus, +1 bless - a hit; damage roll 3, -1 for Str penalty - 2 points of damage), and it drops to the ground, helpless, where the group can finish it off easily.

Shadowlyn looks down at the lump, a little confused. "What the hell was that thing?" She peers ahead, trying to see if there is anything else down the corridor and also to try and see what they were apparently gnawing at.
