(Adventure) Rivenblight's Castaway [Creamsteak judging]

Tylkin said:
Tylkin speaks. "While you concern for dumb animals is commendably greater than mine, I assure you that I will make little difference when added to or subtracted from the substantial weight of goods in the cart. Do give me some credit- I know how to deal with pack beasts.”

Ioleta's brow furrows and her jaw clenches, releasing before she speaks, "You're the expert." She adds silently to herself, But I don't want to 'deal' with burying the poor thing.

Troi - Init +3, HP 20/20, AC 18, Atk: Longbow +6 (1d8, 80 ft)

"Should 'member ta thank Delmon fer th' armor next time I see 'im." Troi says to himself as he heads after the retreating figure, nocking an arrow as he goes.

He heads towards his quarry, angling slightly so as to get the tree between them out of the way. He finds another small tree, hiding behind it as before, and lets loose at the man.

Move 15 feet towards the attacker, angling slightly to get the big tree out of the way, and taking quarter-cover from a small tree. Shooting with longbow.

Knocking the arrow as he moves, Troi comes to a stop beside a small birch and lets fly. He doesn't actually see the shot hit- the man is pushing through a thick wall of brush- but he heres a small gasp of pain, followed by noisy rustling, retreating into the distance beyond the wall of foliage. He can see the vague outline of the man through the plants for the first few feet, but then he's out of sight. Troi's about forty feet from the barrier of plant matter that seems to be doing the most blocking of his view (and his shot). He has a clear line, if he cares to sprint as far as he can before caution, and vegitation, force him to go slower.

2 damage. As I said, you could move 60 feet as a run if you cared to do so, but you can't run through heavy underbrush, so that would bring you right to the edge of it.

Meanwhile, things proceed calmly on the road, Tylkin seeming to take Ioleta's acceptance of his expertise as only natural.

Sorry I was unclear, but Troi's cry wasn't heard by anyone on the road.

"Aw, hell." Troi curses quietly to himself as he watches his quarry dash into the brush. "That's got ambush written all over it."

As quietly as possible and avoiding the undergrowth, he dashes to the edge of the brush, pausing there and peering through the bushes, attempting to listen for his foe, as well.

Moving the full 60 feet, stopping, trying to spot the man and listening for any movement.

Troi can definitely hear the man as he runs away, and this close to the brush can even see him well enough (although a shot would be difficult). He's about one hundred and twenty feet away now.

"I really hope I can peg 'im from here." Troi says as he moves up, nocking an arrow.

He takes aim and shoots.

Move up (15 or 30, whichever I can do in a move action), shoot with longbow.

Yeah, splitting the party is more efficient time-wise in PbP, but not by heaps. No worries.

Troi pushes his way through the wall of plants, knocks and arrow, and lets it fly. It's a beautiful shot, taking the man in the small of the back as he runs. His momentum carries him onwards, and he tumbles a bit down a small rise, his bow going one way and his body another.

"Ha!" Troi says in triumph. "Got'cha."

He dashes for the body, though he nocks an arrow just in case any other forms approach.

If the man gets up, Troi shoots him again; otherwise, when he gets there, he puts away his bow, pulls out his short sword, and checks the body.

As Troi sprints through the forest, no threat materializes, and the man simply lies still. As he bends over to inspect the body, Troi can see that the arrow didn't seem to hit anything vital- the bleeding has stopped, and he should be able to safely remove the arrow, if he cares to. The man's body, on inspection, yields a small axe, balanced enough for throwing, a small quiver of arrows, a huntsman's knife, a pouch of healing herbs, and a small collection of coinage, totaling some three gold pieces plus change.

Think of the pouch of herbs as 1 dose of a healing kit.
