The sign at 57 Clipper makes Ioleta smile. Wonder if there's a shrine inside. It's been some time since I made obeisiances.
She steps inside and moves along with Troi eyes moving to and fro delightedly to all doors, windows, patrons and house staff. In that order. Egress. Check. Emergency egress. Check. Marks. Check. Obstacles. Check. She takes a deep breath and smiles broadly, "I do so love taverns." Still beaming, she elbows Troi, "You're so gruff." She slips her pack gratefully to the floor and hops onto a barstool, smiling, "We'd like to talk to him, please. And I'd like a pale ale. Something fruity. Throat's been froggy." Her hand flutters near her throat in explanation before she fishes a silver out of her pouch.

Troi narrows his eyes, shrugging. "Yer point?"
He looks to the bartender. "Well? Ya heard of 'im, er not?"

Whoops. Apparently the board ate my post. Terribly sorry...
The bartender points a lazy finger to a handsome man sitting alone some distance away. The man (presumably for lack of anything better to do) has been watching you since you came in, and now that your attention is directed his way he gives you a nod and waves you over. Meanwhile, the bartender looks at Ioleta's silver peace with a blank expression on his face before taking it and giving her a fine clay mug filled with ale from one of the lower casks along the wall. The drink seems to fit Ioleta's description and is of decent quality, but it seems the finer and more expensive alchohol comes from the higher-up casks. One in paticular labled "Gnome golden light" catches her eye.

Tylkin nods. "Yes, I am indeed the one you're looking for." He is dressed richly, in embroidered silks and with no small amount of jewelry. The effect is tasteful, but very clearly wealthy. Although he is sitting down, he is obviously tall and decently fit. He has short wavy brown hair, confident blue eyes, and handsome face capped with a neat goatee. Quite, those so inclined may think, the ladykiller. Tylkin certainly seems so inclined, Ioleta notices as he gives them all a once-over.
"I am not going as far as Rivenblight, though, although I am heading in that general direction." He looks at the assembled group. "Quite a lot of you, aren't there?" he says dryly. "I warn you, it is only efficient up to a point to spend money on guards."

"It makes no real difference ta us where ye're headin'." Troi says with a shrug.
"As fer how many of us there are... surely ye've heard a th' problems with the forest north a here lately? Lots a bandits... an' I assure ya, we're some a th' best guards ya can get. An' we're down on our luck at th' moment, so we might be willin' ta cut ya a deal fer our services... whaddya say?"

"I have indeed heard of them, and I'm not terribly worried," Tylkin lies easily, and all of you can see it for what it is- the opening shot of the haggling. "And I'm not terribly concerned with what kind of luck your having. I'm a businessman, not a charity." He waves his hand in a friendly gesture. "Come, sit down. I'm sure something can be worked out." He leans back. "Two and a half crowns per day for the lot of you."
The actual blow-by-blow haggling is irrelevant, I'm just giving other players some time to post. Which brings me to another point- how's the pacing? I'm making you play out this and the dwarves and so forth- would you prefer "You talk to them and are ready to go now?" Thought I'd ask, since I'm not sure what your preferences are...
