Arkavas calls back over the crackling of the lightning. "I was thinking we could come one by one across this hall, but there seems to be a bit of an obstacle on the other side of this door." He points behind himself toward the spike. "There's no room for us all to come through safely, unless we get this blasted lightning taken care of. Perhaps if Sweetness and I can stop the lightning, perhaps those that cross through the first hallway can congregate in this room as the others make their way."

Arkavas turns his attention to the lightning spike straining his memory to see if he can recognize either the magic or the mechanics behind this hazard.

[sblock=OOC]It's not my turn, so I'll wait for others to post their actions, but on my turn, I'm planning on taking a look at the spike with an Arcana check.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]You can take your next turn now if you wish. I don't care for someone taking two turns in a row against those traps, but I'll ask anyone to state your actions as Minor/Move/Standard, as traps might have (like the force door) a number of attack per turn, ect...[/SBLOCK]

From a safe distance, Radtash looks for a mechanism to disable the lightening, and tells his allies what he finds. Knowing when he is no longer needed, he then begins twiddling his thumbs, waiting for someone else to figure the trap out.

Sweetness trotted forward to stand behind Arkavas as the group examined the lightning-filled hallway. "Not going to go look for keyhole in that, yep yep yep," the gnoll muttered.

OOC: Letting everyone get a shot at their examination before we figure what our options are

"Arkavas, get your face away from that lightning before we see your imitation of a church steeple in a storm!"

Gruff pauses. "It's quite a simple trap, really, and one I seem to remember from years ago."[sblock=arcana]
Arcana (1d20+13=33)
Heh. Wasted crit imo.[/sblock]

Gruff and Arkavras both come to the same conclusion: The lightning is attracted to those touching a surface in the room. Jumping, tumbling, or flying might allow one to move without attracting the lightning.

Hmm, Arkavras, Gruff, that gives me an idea. Maybe we could use the bird-man bodies (again!) to attract the lightning away from us? If we pile a few of them together, it could possibly attract enough lightning to let us move through safely.

"No good. If we step on the Kenku's they'll just conduct and charge us. We need to step lightly.

Sweetness. You're the Athletic one. You're going to have to jump to the other side. A series of two or three two-foot hops should get you there without getting too cooked.

Then see if you can turn the blasted thing off."

Minor: Draw staff. Getting ready for another Curative Admixture ;) .
