(Both Inspire Courage and Intimidate are Standard actions, so normally it wouldn't be possible. Due to the circumstances, I'll allow it this time, but it'll be a one time circumstance.)
Intimidate - 9 rolled, +3 skill, +2 circumstance bonus - 14 total.
Several of the attackers look Rainca as though they are having second thoughts about the attack, including the man who is likely Richard the Brute.

Gath returns to the group, confused, and asks "Not smash?"

Dioran is up.

Adding to the confusion, Dioran starts casting a summonning spell in the most obvious and ominous manner he can devise. He'll stand close to Rainca so as to be seen more easily and liberaly shout curses in Abyssal if the spell permits such. Should the spell get through, he'll summon a fiendish monstrous scorpion (small) near the whoresons, but far enough to allow them a chance to surrender or run off.

(assuming they still close the distance, he can only place it 30 ft. away)

Cedric readies his bow again, but this time waits before shooting, aiming at the brute.

Despite the fear that several of the whoresons are showing, they are pushed forward by the more stalwart attackers, in one case even taking the torch away from one of the torchbearers. "No giving up now! Y'know wet Richard said! He'll go after ya after flattin Bluerun!" A few, however, manage to stay a bit more behind, ready to run at a sign of even more trouble.

Lupic is up.

Joseph remains in hiding, and Richard the Brute catches up with the other whoresons.

Cedric takes his readied action and loses another arrow at the Brute, and this time, he hits, although barely (roll 12 + 3 AB, +1 inspire courage, -2 range increment; 5 damage). The Brute lets out a grunt of pain as the arrow hits him.

New initiative order:

Gath - 20
Dioran - 19
The Whoresons - 14
Lupic - 12
Joseph - 10
The Brute - 5
Cedric - 4
Rainca - 2

Rainca is up.

Rainca hangs onto clarity by a hair's breadth - she begins to tremble as a gust of wind brings the scent of the men to her nose. She breathes deep. Yes, hoar-suns... Come... Shreds of sanity counsel her to remain with the others and she denies her urge to fly in rage amongst the enemies and be slick with their flowing blood. She shakes, beads rattling. Only the most foolish would mistake her trembling for fear... a pit dog held by its collar, tense and ready to spring to its savage work looks more tame.

OOC: If they stop she'll charge. Though I guess at the bottom of the initiative, that's not my option. Ah well.

Gath, though eager to rush forward again, waits along with the rest of the party.

Dioran finishes his summoning spell, and a horrid, dog-sized scorpion appears. A number of screams can be heard, from the whoresons as well as from a few nearby buildings, at the sight of the beast.

Dioran and the Scorpion are up.

Urging the diabolical beast forward, Dioran utters a gutteral laugh which borders uncomfortably close on the maniacal, before screaming "Run, mortals, RUN!"
He then gleefully proceeds to summon yet another scorpion. Whether his display of bravado is really just a display is not clear, and Dioran does nothing to clarify his actions to the rest of the group. He is obviously enjoying himself immensly though.

The scorpion will charge the nearest whoreson if possible, otherwise it will run as far as it can into their midst without provocing AoO's.

The scorpion rushes forward, but doesn't quite reach the whoresons yet.

With the continued summoning of Dioran and the incoming scorpion, two of the whoresons finally break off and rush into the night.
A few shouts later, one of the torchbearers grabs the intitiative and shouts "Y'two stay w'me to distract t'beast! Rest moves f'wars!"
Three of the whoresons indeed engage the scorpion, while the restcarefully maneuvers around the combat, and forward again.

b.wS.........W......D (60 ft. distance; b is the brute, w is the 3 who remained behind)

Somehow, the whoresons that remained to fight the scorpion blunder their attacks - possibly their fear has caught them unawares.

(You wouldn't believe the bad die luck the whoresons had... Lupic is up, unless he wants to wait for the Brute to come into reach).
