Fant will hold back to give Gorefoot a chance to charge and Mourlas a chance to step out of the way (she mutters something at Mourlas to this effect). The worst that happens is that they don't and she has to move forward at a reduced pace anyway.

Grimacing at the awfully cramped space to fight, Morulas elegantly sidesteps out of the noblewomans way, ignoring the slight of his wrongly used name for the fifth or sixth time this day.

Will those humans ever learn? Here I thought their nobles had a bit of acumen at least.

After the first shot while fishing for a new arrow, Morulas registers the elemental wards behind the construct and whispers to himself

'I wonder if we could lure this brute into these flames. What physical might may not accomplish might be won by illusiveness.'

Ooc:

Fant will hold back to give Gorefoot a chance to charge and Mourlas a chance to step out of the way (she mutters something at Mourlas to this effect). The worst that happens is that they don't and she has to move forward at a reduced pace anyway.

Morulas (note the spelling pls) will move sideways a few steps while (or after?) loosening his arrow.

End Round 2, Begin Round 3

Here's the "before" map, indicating Persephone's round 2 movement (which I left out) and putting Fant back, as she chose to delay.

Code:
| | ________
| | / cc
| | / Xc
| | / I
| |/ GN
 FM
 P

Initiative:
Persephone
Rodimus (KO)
Nars
Ishmael
Construct
Gorefoot
Morulas
Fant

Gorefoot charges in. Since the construct has just moved, it is once more able to take an atack of opportunity. It hits Gorefoot for 7 points. Gorefoot's blow is deflected by the creatures armor. (OOC:[d20=4]+6=10 insufficient for monsters AC.)

Morulas slides over into the room, firing an arrow. With the difficulties inherent in shooting into melee, it's nearly an impossible shot. But only nearly... with skill and luck, the elf manages to place an arrow into the construct! Morulas deals 4 points of damage.

Fant charges in as well, smacking the enemy for 6 points of damage.

Persephone looses a bolt, missing the construct but managing not to hit any of her friends either. The bolt does go close enough to Gorefoot's ear to make her choice of words ironic.

Rodimus stabilizes.

Nars is up next.

Code:
| | ________
| | / Fcc
| | / GXc
| | / I

        M

Subtotal: Construct has been hit for 6+4+6=16 points so far.

Nars quickly weighs his options. He would like to move so as to flank with Lady Fant, but is unsure if this will take too much time. He's eager to get into the fray. He will move in to strike.

OOC: If it is a single move action (20 ft) to move to flanking with Fant (1 below), Nars will move there and attack with his shortsword. If it is farther than 20ft, he will move in to the immediate left of Ishmael (2 below) and attack. Bottom line, he wants to get an attack this round. Attack +2, Damage 1d6+2, AC 17

Either 1:

Round 3, Continued

OOC: The way I've been doing this is that each spot a letter can go in is 5'. (10' on a second diagonal.) Hopefully, that will make it a little easier for folks to predict where they can get.

Nars moves in and attacks. The construct has allready used its attack of opportunity for the round, so he gets into position without mishap. Unfortunately, he misses.

Ishmael is next.

LEW Judge
"Beware, companions! 'Tis not a mindless construct we battle!"

First, he tried to maneuver in such a way as to flank with whomever else is fighting it. Then, Ishmael began his assault upon the construct, throwing bone-crushing blows with Violet.

Taking advantage of the Constructs momentary distraction, Ishmael moves to flank with Fant, leaving room for Nars to tumble in and flank with Gorefoot. He strikes the construct for 6 points of damage.

The construct will go next...

Round 3 continues

In frustrated anger, the construct pounds away at Ishmael, but his attacks are repelled without effect.

Gorefoot is next...

Persephone

Persephone will reload her crossbow and glance around the room. Apart from the sybol covered NE & NW walls, is there anything else? Any doors? Furniture?

Patlin said:
Charging up the stairs, the party passes through the shimmering light marking the point of no return. At the top, the stairway empties out into another 1/4 circle chamber, much like those found on the first floor. The room appears to be decorated as a sitting room, and contains a coffee table and chairs, as well as a few potted plants. Windows look out upon the city of Orussus.

Looking quickly to your left and to your right, two things immediately leap to your attention. First, you notice that the northeast and northwest walls, which ought to contain the exits to the other rooms on this level, are covered with a chaotic whirling pattern of fire and ice. For a moment, it seems as if you may have found the source of the problem, but then you realize that could not be the case. The fire and ice are far too controlled to be accidental, they must be some sort of intentional barrier... perhaps one of the anti-theft devices mentioned by the puppet in the first room. Also, the wall of fire & ice doesn't seem to be producing any smoke, and it was after all the smoke that initially caused the alarm.

The walls aren't covered with symbols, the whirling patterns are actual flames intermixed with some sort of magical frost. Other than the coffee table and chairs, the room is wide open and without furniture. From your new position, you can see an unusual grid that wasn't visible from the stairway. You'll probably want to examine that at length after the battle.
