(Adventure) The Burning Tower (Knight Otu Judging) [Concluded]

"Hurrah! Good work everyone." Nars will again quickly inspect the northeast door. Assuming it is like the rest, he will draw his swords and step aside. "At least I, er, got to open that safe."

OOC: How tall did the tower appear from outside? I don't think anyone mentioned specifically counting, but Nars would probably have a idea of how many floors it was.

The tower is three stories tall, and Nars notes that the doors on the second floor do not bear the enchantment that made progress on the first floor so slow. They don't even have locks, and Nars believes they can be opened without any special effort.

"Aha! Finally a normal door. Is everyone ready? I'll, ah, open it."

Nars will first put his ear to the door to listen for any activity on the opposite side. Then wait for the group to assemble and open the door.

Nars hears nothing at either door.

Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

Gorefoot hefts himself to his feet, and somewhat wearily readies his greatsword. He takes up position by the door, opposite Nars, and says, "Do it."

Fant orders the group three abreast at the doorway- Herself, Nars, and Gorefoot in the front line, Ishmael, Rodimus, and Mourlas in the second, and Persephone bringing up the near. She gives Mourlas the go-ahead to open the door.

The party explores the remainder of the second floor without incident, finding the mage's bedroom immediately to the northwest, a library to the northeast, and a chamber full of various alchemical odments, material components, and arcane parephenalia in the far north. This last room has a stairway leading up, with a blue shimmer about halfway up. It also has a variety of cabinets, some of which are locked.

Persephone

"Hmmm...Are we in a big hurry? I love libraries."

Persephone will peruse the books and such in the library while the others do their thing, until Fant tells her to get moving.

"Spread out and search for any hints as to what's going on, and any valuables Rilthorn might prefer saved." The last rings a little hollow, even to her. "Your maj- Perseph- Percy, you take the library, since you know most about this sort of thing. Nars, see what's behind those locks."
