Gorefoot will draw his greatsword, point at the puppet and ask Lady Fant, "Can I break it?"

Fant winces in annoyance at the puppet's shrill cries. "Best not to," she says, raising her voice over the puppet. "We should keep property damage to a minimum. Break the door instead. Ishmael, you and I will cover this door in case anything comes through. Your majesty, if you would please move behind us?" She will position herself as stated.

ooc: Switch places with Persephone, and ready an action to attack anything hostile that comes through the door.

Persephone

Persephone smiles at Isnmael, earlier. "Hi!" she says, flashing her pearly whites.

As the puppet begins to shout and it starts to look ugly, she whips her crossbow off her back and loads a bolt. "Hmm, I just thought of something....oh well, maybe later..."

Gorefoot will draw his greatsword, point at the puppet and ask Lady Fant, "Can I break it?"

"We should not yet destroy it." Morulas adds with a strained voice. "though its wailing certainly pains my ears."

Morulas circles his sword with a flick of his wrist, assuming a graceful combat stance "He did after all warn us of some guardians we are to expect - he might be useful again"

----
Ooc: Since I'm already next to Rodimus I'll just cover him and have my sword ready to stab anything hostile that comes through (or from another direction.. being summoned, etc..) - Attack +2, Damage 1d8+1

End of Round 1

Readied Actions: Nars, Fant and Morulas will attack any hostile creature that comes within range.

Gorefoot has his greatsword ready, though his suggestion to destroy the puppet has been rejected.

Rodimus strikes at the door twice more, but only does one additional point of damage dure to the doors hardness.

Persephone loads her crossbow, and exchanges positions with Fant so that the latter may guard the eastern door with Ishmael.

Round 2 begins...

"Aye, milady" Ishmael does as asked of him. Gripping Violet tightly, he watched the door with vigilance. In his mind, the pounding of the half-orc's fists were like a musical beat, akin to the sounding of war drums ere the beginning of a conflict .

ooc: Warhammer; +6; 1d6+2; 20/x3; AC 21; FF: 18; Touch: 14

Nars will move over to stand on the west couch so that he could shoot over the heads of the shorter members of the party. He will continue his ready action until something happens.

"Hopefully nothing important," mutters Fant, probably too quietly to be heard over the pounding of fist on wood. "Gorefoot," she says over the din, "lend a hand with that door."

Gorefoot - Gnome Barbarian 1

Gorefoot, looking rather disappointed, turns back to cover Rodimus. His hands grip the hilt of his greatsword tightly, his irritation towards the puppet and this place fuelling his strength. At Lady Fant's urging, he swings at a portion of the door not covered by Rodimus.

OOC: Power attack it for 1, so +4 to hit, 1d10+6 for damage.

Round 2, Part 1

Morulas remains at the ready (right?)

Gorefoot swings at the door, hitting it for 9 points of damage and smashing it open. Beyond the door is a combination study & business office, where you might imagine the resident mage discusses business with his customers. Looming in the doorway, apparently just about to open the door, stands an intricate suit of armor, one gauntleted hand grasping an extremely fine Halberd. The armor is obviously empty of occupant, but just as obviously mobile and threatening.

Nars, not having moved yet, was still acting on his readied action from the previous round. (d20=17)+3=20 -- Hit! Unfortunately, the armor is sufficiently solid that the blow is deflected without damage. Nars initiative changes to immediately before Gorefoots next round.

Rodimus is next, I will wait a bit in case anyone wishes to change actions due to the new information.
