Varak looks back and forth between the halfling and the Valdalis. The deal done, the half-orc does ties a couple of the fine mounts together, and mounts up one of them. "Where to now?" he says questioning their next move.

Haltor and White-Eye lead the pact. At Varak's question, he shrugs. Lets go back to the meet-up and see what has been uncovered.

Having gathered all of the information that he could about the area, Vistrathis decides to convene at the rendezvous. On the way there, he thinks about what strategies might be used against the living spells that they could possibly encounter.

The group rendezvous in front of The Land's End Inn. Haltor, Varak and Kirska have procured the mounts, fine looking steeds by anyone's estimation. Vistrathis and Alex have garnered some useful arcane knowledge of the area, while Rook and Harresh have located the location of a guide that may aid you in yoru journey. The half-orc is a known frequenter of the Inn.

Seeing everyone at the rendezvous, Vistrathis raises a welcoming hand in greeting.

"I can see that your efforts were successful! Those are some fine-looking steeds. Alex and I have not been able to find out much, but what we did find out was of immense value. It seems that there have been some sightings of living spells in the mountains. This makes sense for a couple of reasons, the first being the mountains approximation to the Mournland, and the second being the fact that living spells tend to congregate at the sources of large amounts of arcane energies. It is entirely possible that the break in was caused by these living spells, and not by some intelligent thief as was previously proposed. That is still a possibility, so we will have to remain vigilant, but it is within the realm of possibilities that it is these living spells and not some mortal being that tripped the Cannith wards."

Vistrathis waits a patient moment while the slew of information sinks into the others before continuing.

"Were we able to find a guide the knows about the mountains?" he asks of Rook and Harresh.

Kirska sits quietly atop one of the magical steads, the dwarf looks impressed with the way the beast handles. "Ya done well Haltor, that ya did" he whispers not caring if the halfling hears or not.

After reading those few passages in the university library, Vistrathis looks over at his wizard study companion.

"It seems that there have been some sightings of living spells, more specifically, a living cloud of daggers. It looks like we'll need to keep an eye on our use of magic, as they're attracted to sources of arcane magic. And an abandoned Cannith Forge seems like a rather strong source of arcane magic if you ask me. I wonder if that is what caused the place's wards to activate...what do you think?" he whispers.

[sblock=Arcana Check] Vistrathis rolled a 26 Arcana to find out everything about the Living Spells [/sblock]

"Oh my stars and garters, that just may be correct, although if so, I fear that we should be in for a difficult time of it." Alex replies, quickly dropping into a whisper after his initial outburst.

*** Returning to the others ***

"Vistrathis & I agree on this hypothesis one thing to add is that the Living Spells are mindless entities, not thinking creatures, their only goal is to carry out their effects against a target. We must exercise extreme caution if we encounter them, I'm not even sure what effect my arcane spells have on them, but regardless it could be difficult if we run into them." Alex adds to the gith's comments.

Vistrathis smiles and nods to Alex. "Thank you Alex. I had never even thought about what the effects of our spells may have on these beings. If I am not mistaken, they still have a physical form for us to damage, so we'll just have to test our spells on them carefully and determine if we should focus our efforts elsewhere."

Haltor frowns. Living things he knew how to fight. Undead he'd seen his share of. But... spells? You did not fight spells; you fought with spells.

He looked to Rook and his companion. We are mounted and we know the dangers at the end. Do we have a guide?
