[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

Alex is also quite intrigued by the chatting excitedly with Vistrathis about some possible hypotheses he has.

Aid another ARcana. Auto succeeds.

A question for the DM. I haven't been approved yet and in PHB3 I'd really like to take the Superior Implement Proficiency instead of the dagger one i have. Can I make that change as I haven't actually used the waepon yet?

Sorry for the delay. I'll try and get to it tonight. [/sblock]

[sblock=cmoss]
Sure, please run the changes by me as I'll need to re-approve[/sblock]

As the group begins to move towards the cavern, you spot a pair of hobgoblins further in the cave farther in the cave. Several torches are placed on poles wedged into debris around the room. Several boulders—8 or 9 feet tall—stand here and there. Passages lead off from the cavern.

One of them carries a large polearm, a glaive, and the other carries a pair of scimitars. They seem to have noticed you as one turns over its shoulder and calls to somewhere outside your vision. With an almost unnatural sixth sense, Haltor, who had just finished tying up the animals at the time, feels White Eye tense up as the Clawfoot picks up the scent of the enemies. His years of training with the mount enable him to react far quicker than anyone else.

[sblock=Perception 15]
A couple of large, reddish-brown patches stain the floor. (BL/BM 13/14 & BI/BJ 18/19)

[sblock=Religion/Arcana DC 15]
These are called Blood Rocks, they can conjure feelings of great battlelust in someone standing on them.

ooc - game terms, you crit on 19 or 20 while on them (the green splotches. Good job Wotc, way to have your maps match the description ;)) [/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=Passive Perception DC 24]
You spot 5 more hobgoblins hiding behind various rocks, ready for an ambush.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
On the map s hobbo is scimitar, g hobbo is glaive-wielder. So funny story, I rolled their hide checks and got a 1 and a 2.... Apologies for the map, it's hard because they're pretty far away.

Haltor - 23 <- you're up

Varak sees the hobgoblin's though a bit later than expected. He had seen a few goblinoids in Sharn, but the half-orc was more familiar with the orcs tribes in The Wastes. These two should go down quickly.

Taking but the briefest moments to slap his hunt-mask over his face, Haltor whoops a Talenta battle cry and whips White Eye into a flurry. They dash forward, heedless of danger, the feathers on his sharrash streaming behind him.[sblock=Actions]Run (double move) to BP14 (behind the boulder).[/sblock][sblock=Haltor]Haltor—Male Halfling Warlord 4

[sblock=? for R1] How do you want to handle Vistrathis' many immediate interrupts? I know I only get 1 per round, but I don't want to be uber cheap and select which of your already shown attacks I negate/debuff/etc. Doesn't seem quite fair that I would ignore a 5 damage attack, but negate a crit. So just lemme know so we can get this ball rolling![/sblock]

I think you should set it up each round for what you want to happen. Ie if you mark three foes with Sword of Sigils tell me in your attack which one would be your first choice to trigger Aegis on, then second, in case 1 misses. For Dimensional Vortex...that one's hard. I'd prefer you let me know which foe to target (preferably at the bottom of your actions sblock) with it rather than after the fact. Same for Channeling Shield, each round if you could add in almost a contingency section at the bottom. I.e. if Haltor is bloodied, you'd prefer to use Channeling shield on the next attack against him. If the following round you're in trouble, than change the shield contingency to yourself.

It's a bit hard in PbP, but I'm thinking that's the best way to do it. Make any sense?[/sblock]

Alex reaches into a pocket in his clothes and pulls out an orb that swirls with arcane energy. He steps to the side to get a clearer view of the cavern and sees Haltor rush in. "Wait..." Alex warns, but its too late. The young mage moves into the mouth of the cavern and prepares to launch psychic energy at anyone that gets close to the halfling.

[sblock=ooc] That makes perfect sense for pbp, R1. Thanks for the input! [/sblock]

[sblock=Tactics] Hey guys, I know its my turn, but I'm having trouble deciding if I should hang back with the group, or go ahead towards the charging halfling in an attempt to keep him safe. Lemme know what you guys think, cause I can't make up my mind, lol. [/sblock]
