[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

[sblock=ooc] Yeah, the Immediate actions are a pain, I'm sure. Sorry for messin with yer plans, lol. Also, for some reasons, the controller badguy role is massively different from the controller player role. *shrugs* [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]No worries, renau1g... you have a lot of games to keep track of, too![/sblock]

Harressh grunts as the glaive strikes him. He straightens to his full height, then quivers for a moment. Fire and light flash from his scales, burning both adjacent enemies. He follows up by breathing a short blast of frost from his jaws, chilling the scimitar wielder slightly. As the motes of ice swirl and settle, Harressh is suddenly gone, reappearing on the other side of the glaive-wielding leader. He spits another ball of ice and guides it with the staff at the prone hobgoblin, but it dissipates in the air before reaching its target.

[sblock=Actions]Start of turn: Cosmic cycle aura deals 4 fire and radiant damage to both adjacent enemies.
Minor: Dragon breath vs. scimitar hobbo (1d20+8=19, 1d6+1=3) 19 vs reflex, maybe a hit? 3 cold damage if so.
Move: Spacial Trip to teleport to BN12. I'm not sure if this triggers the aura or not.
Standard: Dragonfrost w/CA vs. glaive (1d20+9+2=12, 1d8+11=14) Natural 1, dang. Too bad, I could have pushed him adjacent to the other guy and action pointed for an area attack... oh well.[/sblock]

Vistrathis was getting very annoyed at the glaive-wielding hobgoblin's incessant stabbing and dragging of his body across the cavern floor. Taking a momentary breather, the swordmage can feel his cloak pulling at his core energy, healing his wounds, but leaving him a little bit more tired than he was before this fight began. Keeping an eye, and magical markings, on the glaive-wielder, Vistrathis waits patiently on the sidelines for one of the hobgoblins to make a mistake that he could exploit.

[sblock=Actions]

- Standard: Second Wind; Cloak of the Walking Wounded allows Vistrathis to use 2 healing surges, healing him for 24 damage and bringing him back up to 45 hp (he is now at 9/12 healing surges). This also gives him a +2 bonus to all defenses until the beginning of his next turn (AC 26, Fort 19, Reflex 20, Will 19).

--- Immediate Interrupts ---

1) If G (still marked with Aegis of Shielding) hits any of his allies with a melee attack, he will use Dimensional Vortex against him, teleporting him next to S 34, making him attack S 34 instead of my ally, and giving G a +4 bonus to damage on this attack against S 34.

2) If G does not use a melee attack, but S 34 does (and hits one of my allies), teleport S 34 next to G and make S 34 use his attack against G instead of my ally.

3) If neither use a melee attack against one of my allies, but G does use an attack against one of my allies that doesn't also target Vistrathis, Vistrathis will use his Aegis of Shielding to reduce the damage to the first of G's damaging attacks by 9.

Varak smiles a toothy grin as both opponents come closer to him, just within his grasp. His greed provides his downfall as he slices his own arm with his blade.

Not that it matters, but ranged attacks against nonadjacent prone targets don't grant you CA, in fact they actually get a +2 to defenses against them [/sblock]

White Eye continues her defensive crouch, though her good eye glares at the enemies around her. Haltor's bleeding increases dramatically...

Alex to the rescue! the wizard hurries around the far side away from the hobgoblins and patches up Haltor.

The scimitar wielder charges forward, attempting to punish the wizard, but instead finds himself teleported next to the glaive-wielder, but unable to stop the momentum and stabs the other hobgoblin.

The glaive wielder swears at the scimitar wielder and slashes around wildly, but perhaps the pain of the blow sets his aim off as only Alex feels the pain.

g - uses glaive flurry - vs ac (Haltor, white-eye, Alex, harresh, Varak); dmg (1d20+11=15, 1d20+11=22, 1d20+11=24, 1d20+11=18, 1d20+11=13, 3d4+4=10) - forgot -2 for mark from Vist, so only Alex is hit for 10 and slid to BK15

s34 - charges to Alex - vs ac; dmg (1d20+10=26, 1d8+6=14), triggers Dimensional Vortex - hits g for 14

These are called Blood Rocks, they can conjure feelings of great battlelust in someone standing on them.

ooc - game terms, you crit on 19 or 20 while on them (the green splotches. Good job Wotc, way to have your maps match the description ;)) [/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=Healing Surges]Haltor's only spent 1, not 2, last I checked (from the Heal check).[/sblock]Haltor sits up on the saddle, wiping the blood from his mouth, barely visible under his hunt mask. Looking down at the deep cut in his side, he spits and thumps his chest. That's the best you can do, honorless worm? Many better than you have tried to cut me down. But we shall not fall so easily. He twirls his sharrash in the air and then leans heavily into a thrust, cutting the gob deeply but leaving himself seemingly open to attack.[sblock=Actions]"Move" to stop being prone on White Eye. Harresh changes tactics and spits a fat iceball in a high arc. It lands behind the scimitar wielder and explodes in a cloud of razor sharp fragments. They cut and slice the enemy painfully. The dragonborn retains his position, wary of the glaive wielder's reach.
