Tondrek coos over the new equipment, mumbling over each as they are doled out to the group. He claps at his new cloak, repeatedly making this appear and vanish. After a moment, he focuses again and looks into the jungle with an unsure expression.

In there, right?

Gren examines the armbands for a while. Noting that they were markedly too large for him before he picked them up, but now they seem perfectly fitted to his bulky arms. He slides them up to rest just beneath his biceps and feels them tighten even more. He nods in satisfaction as he feels their energy coursing through him.

He looks up as Tondrek speaks, "Yup. Something loud is in there."

As you move further into the swamp, the trees become fewer and fewer, replaced by ancient stone pillars. Time has not been kind to these monuments, and any details have long since been eroded away.

Eventually you make you way to a massive clearing. A large squat ziggurat stands in the center. It too has suffered from years of exposure, but it is still standing, and there are figures moving around it. You recognize some of them as gnolls, but there are a couple humans nearby as well. The gnolls are looking back and forth from the temple to the jungle while the humans are standing around much like the warforged and lizardfolk from earlier were. For now the sparse cover from the trees and crumbled pillars seem to prevent the gnolls from noticing you, but it would be difficult to get much closer without arousing their attention.

ooc: Out of curiousity, what is everybody at, hp- and surge-wise?

OOC: Olaf only has 1 HS as a heroic lvl monster, which is why THP and healing that doesn't use surges is so important to him. And if Tondrek needs a HS to rebuild his Infusion he can have one of mine during the short rest. Olaf isn't taking a short rest so he doesn't lose his 5 THP.

Once arriving at the temple, Thalen leans over to the half-orc. "You know anything about these ruins? Who made them? Maybe what they're like inside?" she asks.

It is almost a surprise that Tondrek knows nothing about this temple. The style is not much like anything any of you have seen before. While there were probably once symbols and insignias that would proclaim to whom such a building was dedicated, they've all been claimed by time.
